Girl group Brown Eyed Girls has been making waves with performances of "Sixth Sense", their first comeback in over two years. In the past few weeks, they emerged victorious multiple times on music shows M! Countdown and Inkigayo; the girls have just concluded promotions for "Sixth Sense".

Their brief hiatus will be immediately followed by the release of a re-package of their fourth studio album in November. The girls will then begin follow-up promotions with a brand-new track from the album repackage.

The songs on their fourth studio album and now the repackage are intended to revolutionize the Korean music industry. It was previously stated that their new sound has not yet been heard anywhere else in Korea; the girls recently divulged that their new track is something so new and unanticipated that even they had not yet tried anything like it.

With hits like "Abracadabra", "Sign", and "Sixth Sense", the girls are anticipated to follow up with yet another infectious track. Are you looking forward to the release of the repackaged album?

All My Love’s Doojoon has an infatuation with Ga In from beginning to end

On the 12th April broadcast of MBC’s daily sitcom All My Love, there was a situation where Doojoon spoiled Geum Ji’s blind date.

Geum Ji felt a sense of loneliness when she saw how good Doojoon and Soondeok’s relationship was, making her decide to go on a blind date. But when she received the application form of her date, Doojoon appeared suddenly to tell her that she had not returned the Beast CD that she had borrowed from him previously, thus starting a battle to prevent the date.

Doojoon who whole-heartedly tried to prevent Geum Ji from going on her date fell down and pretended to be sick. Geum Ji had no choice but to send him to the hospital. In order to postpone the date time, she called up the dating agency and found out that her date had cancelled his slot with her a long time ago as he was not satisfied with her.

Doojoon who found out the truth continued pretending to be sick in order to preserve Geum Ji’s self-esteem, giving her an excuse to miss the date. Geum Ji who saw through Doojoon’s pretence was touched by his sincerity. As to whether he will win her heart again, please wait and see.

SM, JYP, and YG dominate the music industry

After analyzing the songs that placed first this year, it became clear that SM, YG, and JYP are still the big three kings of the musical industry. The three companies’ veteran artists swept first place everywhere, and at the same time, they also produced incredible rookies.

SM’s biggest artists so far this year were BoA, SHINee and Girls’ Generation. BoA returned to the Korean music industry for the first time in 5 years, and her “Hurricane Venus” managed to sweep major music charts and programs.

SHINee, who has been previously labeled “the idol group that sings well”, also returned to the music industry with their second official album, “Lucifer.” They ranked first in charts such as Hanteo (album sales), and also swept music programs.

Girls’ Generation is currently taking the stage. Girls’ Generation has already ranked first numerous times in many music charts with “Oh!” and “Run Devil Run.” Additionally, the title song of their third mini-album, “Hoot”, has been sweeping every music chart so far this month.

YG saw much profit with Taeyang’s solo activities. Taeyang took over July with his “I Need a Girl,” and was praised for his singing and dancing abilities.

2NE1 also had a comeback with their first album and surprised everyone when they promoted three title songs during the same period. Their “Go Away”, “Can’t Nobody”, and “Clap Your Hands”, helped them get first place for more than three weeks on a music program that does not allow more than three awards per artist per promotional period. 2NE1 even managed to have their own title songs battle each other.

JYP’s biggest profit was debuting Miss A. Even though Miss A was merely a rookie group, their “Bad Girl Good Girl” placed first in major musical charts such as Melon and Monkey3 for four straight weeks in July. They even managed to snag first place on a musical program, showing that they were powerful rookies. Their newest track,”Breathe”, which had a unique and upgraded performance, also brought in a considerable profit.

JYP’s 2AM also swept first in many musical charts in the beginning half of the year with their song, “Can’t Let You Go Even if I Die.” Since their comeback with their first official album at the end of October, they are doing incredibly well with their two title songs, “You Didn’t Answer My Calls” and “Like Crazy.” 2PM was also on the charts with “I’ll Be Back”.

Other artists outside of the 3 major companies that have taken over the musical charts are DJ DOC, who caused an uproar with “I’m Like This,” Supreme Team with “Then Then Then,” IU, Brown Eyed Girls’ Gain, Secret’s “Madonna”, and Super Star K’s Hur Gak and Kang Seungyoon.

Do you have a favorite entertainment company? Which company would you like to join if you were given the chance?

Onew, Narsha, Hyunah, Hara, and Wooyoung vow to keep the "new Hallyu" wave alive

The “new Hallyu” wave consists of K-pop’s spread into Japan, China, South-East Asia, and the United States. Several groups have already dominated overseas markets, such as KARA, SHINee, 2PM, and Brown Eyed Girls.

In an interview with Yonhap news, Brown Eyed Girl’s Narsha, and 4Minute’s Hyunah, congratulated KARA on their success in Japan. They stated, “We went to the Don Quixote [a discount store chain in Japan] and we could listen to the medley songs of Kara at the store. But more than that, there were posters of KARA at every place we went such as on advertisement billboards on buildings, and on the street. We were really excited to see them."

Narsha and Hyunah also noticed that in Japan, unlike in Korea, there are many female fans for girl groups. Goo Hara was both surprised and happy about this, and noted, "I have many female fans the age of middle school students, and they always come to the fan meetings wearing school uniforms and tell us, ‘I love you, sister. You look fantastically pretty.’ I like them because it is like I have many younger sisters now.”

SHINee and 2PM will be the next idol groups that head to Japan. In December SHINee will hold a concert at Tokyo National Yoyogi Station in Japan for 10,000 fans. In Japan, SHINee has the nickname, “The Chief Executives of the Southeast Asia New Generation”, while 2PM is called, “The Beasts Who Sway the Hearts of Asia's Women”. 2PM will sold a showcase at Ryogoku Kohugikan in December.

At the conclusion of the interview, the idols all agreed that they had the duty to keep the “new Hallyu” wave alive.

All of the Korean groups that have promoted overseas, especially in Japan, have been popular. More and more groups are continuing to promote their songs overseas now. Additionally, some groups, like KARA and SNSD, promote in Japan and Korea at the same time.

What do you think about the spread of k-pop to other countries? What countries would you like to see your favorite idol groups go to next?
