Psy to release new album in September

K-Pop sensation Psy will be releasing a new album in September.

A representative from YG Entertainment revealed that Psy is currently staying in Los Angeles and working on his upcoming album set for a release in September. He is also planning another large-scale concert in Korea in December.

Also, July 15 marked the first anniversary of the release of his global mega-hit “Gangnam Style,” the most-viewed video on YouTube which has accumulated over 1.73 billion views so far. The song has collected awards from world-famous music awards as well as set records in the Guinness Book of Records during past year.

G-Dragon's 2nd Solo Album scheduled to be released in August

Leader of five membered idol group, BIG BANG, is set to release a solo album this coming August.

According to news stated by the representatives of Pop of Revenge to Star News, G-Dragon has confirmed a solo album for this coming August. Back in 2009, G-Dragon had also released his first solo album ‘Heartbreaker’ on his 22nd birthday, August 18th.

A representative stated, “During the recent gap of promotions when he was taking some time off, G-Dragon had been working very hard for Big Bang’s new album, as well as his own solo album” and that “This year, G-Dragon will, once again, start promoting around the same time as his birthday.”

G-Dragon’s 2nd solo album will also be worked on with a famous world-wide musician. They also revealed a nearing of completion for this album when news spread that the “King of Hip Hop”, Ludacris, finished featuring in two of G-Dragon’s self-produced songs.

Brown Eyed Girls Miryo to Release First Solo Album February 1

Brown Eyed Girls Miryo will release her first solo album on February 1. Her agency revealed pictures of her working at the studio. The producer of Miryo’s solo album Lance stated, “We will show you an album that will feature Miryo’s unique charms unseen on the Brown Eyed Girls. Also, the album will be comparable to albums from veteran singers in terms of quality.”

The producer also stated, “Miryo has taken part in producing, and writing the lyrics on the album. Through writing rap she also told her own story. The photoshoot for the jacket and also the filming for the MV have finished. Currently we are focusing on finishing the album.”

Miryo’s first solo album will begin pre-sales beginning form January 19.

SM Town to Release Christmas Carol Album in English

SM Entertainment will release their first Christmas carol album in four years, with all tracks recorded in English. The album titled “2011 SM TOWN Winter-The Warmest Gift” will feature all of the SM Town artists, including Kang Ta, BoA, DBSK, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, f(x), TRAX, CSJH- The Grace, Zhang Liyin, and J-min.

The album comes with seven new tracks and four remake songs. Super Junior’s “Santa U Are The One” is slated to be the title track, as the upbeat sound and bright lyrics match the “The Warmest Gift” theme of the overall album. DBSK’s “Sleigh Ride” is a pop number with orchestra sound in the back, while SHINee produced a rendition of “Last Christmas” with their own unique electronic beats. CSJH-The Grace and Zhang Liyin remade “Amazing” and “The First Noel,” respectively.

The “2011 SM TOWN Winter-The Warmest Gift” will be released on December 13 in Korea and on December 14 in Japan. We’ll keep you updated with more information!

Blue to Release New Japanese Single in February

After the successful release of their major Japanese debut single, “In My Head,” CN Blue has just announced that they will be returning to Japan with another single early next year.

CN Blue said on their Japanese website that the single titled “Where You Are” will be released in February next year. The other tracks included in the single are two new songs, “Get Away” and “Feeling” and an instrumental version of "Where You Are."  “Where You Are” and “feeling” were both penned by CN Blue’s lead vocalist, Jung Yong Hwa. 

CN Blue is currently on tour across Asia. They also have concerts and performances lined up in Japan for the month of December. It was previously reported that because of their touring schedules, they will not be joining any year end music festivals.

Tablo debuts #5 in iTunes 01 Nov

Earlier today, Tablo unleashed the second part of his first solo album "Fever's End". Just after the released, the album immediately debuted at #5 on iTunes Hip-Hop chart. "Fever's End Part 2" contains Tablo's new title track "Tomorrow" which features Big Bang's Taeyang, "Source" featuring fellow Epik High member DJ Tukutz and 3 others more.

Tablo previously ranked first on iTunes with Epik High's album. And with recent 5th place accomplishments, it appears that his comeback is now gathering a positive response from overseas as well. In the chart, "Fever's End Part 2" is behind of popular artists such as Lil Wayne, Jay Z and Kanye West.

Meanwhile, Tablo's title track "Tomorrow" is now sweeping local online charts including Bugs Chart.

Brown Eyed Girls to promote fourth album repackage in November

Girl group Brown Eyed Girls has been making waves with performances of "Sixth Sense", their first comeback in over two years. In the past few weeks, they emerged victorious multiple times on music shows M! Countdown and Inkigayo; the girls have just concluded promotions for "Sixth Sense".

Last month, we reported that Nega Network had confirmed that Brown Eyed Girls will promote their fourth studio album until the end of the year. They seem to be following through, as a representative of Nega Network recently made the statement that Brown Eyed Girls will cease promotions for a week. Their brief hiatus will be immediately followed by the release of a re-package of their fourth studio album in November. The girls will then begin follow-up promotions with a brand-new track from the album repackage.

The songs on their fourth studio album and now the repackage are intended to revolutionize the Korean music industry. It was previously stated that their new sound has not yet been heard anywhere else in Korea; the girls recently divulged that their new track is something so new and unanticipated that even they had not yet tried anything like it.

With hits like "Abracadabra", "Sign", and "Sixth Sense", the girls are anticipated to follow up with yet another infectious track. Are you looking forward to the release of the repackaged album?

JYJ discusses “In Heaven”, the meaning of ‘PSM’ & dreaming of Yunho & Changmin

On September 30th, the members of JYJ met up with reporters for their “In Heaven” press conference at a cafe in Jungdong, Seoul.  In a heartfelt interview, the men answered questions regarding TVXQ, their recent controversy with ‘PSM‘, and their hopes for the future.

Jaejoong began,

“First of all, this album is one that contains all of our memories and feelings over the course of the past two years.  It’s an album that has a lot of scents in it.  There are tracks that convey our honest feelings, as well as tracks that beat around the bush in expressing ourselves.  No matter how much we beat around the bush, though, those that have been with us through it all will know what to imagine while listening to these songs while the regular public will just listen to the song for what it is.  It’s an album with a passcode.  Like I stated, it’s an album that contains everything we’ve felt and done over the past two years.”

Junsu continued, “I worked on the album by conversing a lot with the other members.  It’s an album that shows the true colors of JYJ.  I believe that we were able to create such a great result because we regarded as the production of it as a positive opportunity and experience.”
Jaejoong added, “The reason we started our individual activities was to get the name of JYJ out there.  Since the three of us cannot go out on music programs, we had no option but to get JYJ’s name known individually.”


Junsu stated,

“We began our careers as singers and I hope that we’ll continue to eternally walk down the path of a singer.  Because we’re restricted in so many areas as singers, we decided to take the performance route.  Even if it’s hard to see us on TV, we’re trying to work with our fans by performing at events and fan meetings, as well as other small events.  Our focus is on creating an environment where we can communicate with our fans and enjoy the performance aspect of it together.  A concert is not just a place where we show what we want to show, but a place where we can converse with them.”

When asked what ‘PSM’ meant in their song “Pierrot“, Jaejoong stated,

“It’s weird that a song that’s not even our title track is worthy of being in the media headlines for not passing regulations, but it’s actually quite heartbreaking.  SBS actually asked us what ‘PSM’ meant, meaning that they’ll give us a chance even if it wasn’t okay to pass.  KBS, however, didn’t even give us that chance and just interpreted it however they wanted to, completely ignoring the creator’s intent.  That is so frustrating.”

He continued,

“PSM stands for ‘Performer’, ‘Success’, and ‘Museum’.  Everyone has a future and everyone hopes that their life can shine.  In order to accomplish that, however, they must borrow the strength of others since it’s not possible on your own.  They’re then physically taken advantage of by a museum that creates that success for you and at times you’ll find yourself acting something that you don’t want to do.  It’s a song about people that use innocent people that are only innocently searching for hope.”

Jaejoong stated, “A lot of time has passed.  The time we’ve spent apart might have created 
misunderstandings, but as for us, a lot of that has passed.  I just hope for us to all meet again.  Yunho and Changmin appear in my dreams often.  Once, all three of us dreamt of them at once.”

He continued, “I still don’t keep in contact with Yunho and Changmin.  Please let us contact them.”
Jaejoong also revealed that he might have the opportunity to see Yunho.  “The lighting director for Yunho’s drama, ‘Poseidon‘, is also the lighting director for ‘Protect the Boss‘.  He once told me to come and visit during an after party.  I might be able to see him then.”

KBS says, “JYJ’s song “Pierrot” is inappropriate”

JYJ’s song was recently judged inappropriate for KBS.

On the 28th, KBS  posted the result from deliberation on the K-Pop songs. They judged JYJ’s song “Pierrot” and “Mission” to be inappropriate for the air on KBS.

According to KBS, the reason was “Pierrot” makes a personal attack against Lee Soo Man, president of SM Entertainment. The lyrics of “Pierrot” are aimed at SM, the company that has a conflict with JYJ.

“Pierrot” contains unconventional lyrics, saying, “I’m your Pierrot, so funny. I give you everything. My mind is worn out. You are perfect pro who cares about nothing but money, P.S.M. What are you gonna do to me again. Take your dirty hand off. Don’t even look at me. We are changed. Don’t try to lock us in that kind of  pictorial. Look at the world, it’s wonderful. I’m not a Pierrot.”

JYJ’s other song “Mission” was judged inappropriate, because the lyrics contain swear words.

JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong tweeted, “Since we are human, we can imagine whatever we want to. I wonder what kind of picture will come out. Boss Fighting! Album Fighting!”

JYJ’s ‘In Heaven’ album preorder sales reaches 300,000

JYJ‘s first Korean album, ‘In Heaven‘ has caused a massive stir in the music industry.
On the morning of September 9th, starting at 10AM KST, JYJ opened up reservations for their new Korean album, ‘In Heaven’ through various music sale sites, music stores, and book shops.

According to representatives, there was a reservation of 300,000 orders which caused some websites to crash due to capacity limits.

Meanwhile, JYJ’s single, “Get Out” has already swept first place on several music charts.

SNSD's Leaked Demo Song Will Not Appear on Upcoming Album

Recently one of SNSD’s demo songs was leaked on the internet and they have stated that this will not be going into the new album.

On the list of songs for the copyright association of South Korea, a song titled “Hikkup” by Andrew Jackson was on the list.

Fans then looked up the song through Andrew Jackson and released the song in a clip on Youtube with the title “SNSD’s Official 3^rd Album Demo Song.” Netizens were wondering if this was an actual leak of one of the songs that would be on the album.

SM Entertainment stated, “Hikkup won’t be on the official album that will be released in South Korea. Also, this wasn’t information that should have been revealed but it happened through a mistake by an outside publishing company.

Currently the clip was deleted by request of the agency. Also the information that was on the Copyright Association of South Korea has now been changed to a confidential status.

SNSD will release a new album this coming fall and promote the album in South Korea. SNSD is currently working on their new album.

YGE Explains Why 2NE1 Released One Track at a Time for New Album

Many fans have been taking note of YG Entertianment’s unique promotion style for 2NE1’s latest mini album, where five different singles were released separately prior to the album’s release. Yang Hyun Suk, the head of YGE, gave an explanation for this new approach in an interview with Star News, saying, “In the past, people used to purchase the actual album and listen to all the songs in it. So even if it weren’t the title song, many songs would slowly gain popularity later on. But now the spending pattern has changed to online and mobile centric, which as a result, made people to only listen to the title track, even when the whole album is available.”

He continued, “We figured it’s impossible to change the way the world is moving. But at the same time, we wanted to find a way to give our fans the chance to listen to all songs on the album. That’s why for 2NE1’s new album, we released each of the five new songs one at a time since April.”
“It’s the same for other agencies, but YGE really spends a lot of time and effort on every single song and music video. 2NE1’s new mini album too had no song to throw away, which is why all five songs are considered like our own kids to 2NE1, producer Teddy, and me. We came up with this new promotion plan because we wanted to let our fans hear every song, and we are very thankful that they liked all five singles. YG musicians, including 2NE1, will continue to give their absolute bests in producing and singing every single song,” he added.

2NE1’s latest single “Ugly” has achieved yet another “all-kill” on Korean music charts, setting a new record of five straight “all-kills” from one album. The group is scheduled to hold their first-ever solo concert, “NOLZA,” in August.

Honestly, I had finished the work for BEAST’s first official album.

As soon as our studio was moved to this different work place,

I got to work with a friend of mine, Soosuk, who uses the work room next to me, for the first time and one amazing song was born

If you listen to it, you will just go like "Ah...". It’s a slow tempo song with hiphop and R&B mixed with it.

It is a song I made in 5 days with 2 hours of sleep each day.

These days the Secret girls come by often to the work room

Big Bang Unleashes “Ms.Liar” In Japan!

Big Bang is currently getting ready for their Love & Hope Tour 2011 in Japan which will kick off on May 10th.

Their Japanese album, Big Bang 2, is scheduled for release on May 11th with the track, “Ms.Liar,” out on Rekochoku as a ringtone download.

“Ms.Liar” is the Japanese version of “Stupid Liar” and you can hear a preview at the end of their performance on Tokudane.

They also performed “Tonight” live in the studio and had a short interview about their experience in Japan and their new album.
