[Updated] Cube Entertainment and DSP Media confirm break up of Junhyung and Hara couple

The agencies of Hara and Junhyung have now confirmed the news of the couple’s break up after getting in contact with the idols themselves.

Several insiders in the music industry revealed that the two had parted and decided to remain as friends, and fans have been looking to Cube Entertainment and DSP Media to offer comments on the matter.
Having contacted the idols, reps of both agencies have received word that the two stars have indeed decided to go their separate ways.

DSP Media reps commented, “Due to their busy schedules and KARA’s stay in Japan for their promotions, their meetings have become scarce, and eventually they drifted apart… They decided to remain as good friends in the music industry.”

Cube Entertainment also offered similar comments, stating, “Junhyung and Hara have recently ended their relationship… The two will continue to remain good friends.”
-
[Update - In addition to their initial statement given over the phone, DSP Media has released their full statement on the matter through a press release.
The press release reads:

"Hara and Junhyung have ended their relationship, which they've maintained since June of 2011, and have decided to remain as good sunbae-hoobae in the music industry, and oppa-dongseng. The two continued their relationship under the interest of many fans and the public as the music industry's 'official couple'. However, with their meetings becoming less and less as they each carried out their own activities and handled many domestic and international promotions, the two naturally drifted apart.

On the 15th, when the news of the two unfollowing each other broke, they were at a state in which they had not yet finished sorting out their relationship matter. After this day, having decided to go their separate ways after much thought, the two even exchanged text messages with one another even after breaking up to ask how each other was doing, and currently have a good sunbae and hoobae relationship. Please give the two your encouragement and words of support."]

Cube Entertainment officially wins their lawsuit against MOGEF

Cube Entertainment has just won their lawsuit against the MOGEF (Ministry of Gender Equality and Family) regarding the banning of B2ST‘s 1st album.
On January 5th, the Seoul Administrative Court reached a decision that called for MOGEF’s retraction of the ban placed on B2ST’s ‘Fiction and Fact‘.
MOGEF banned the song “On Rainy Days” back in July of 2011 because of a particularly ‘offensive’ phrase in the lyrics, which said, “I think I’m drunk, I think I should stop drinking.” MOGEF insisted that the lyrics could encourage teenagers to drink, and banned the song as harmful media, which prompted Cube Entertainment to file a lawsuit.
Cube Entertainment argued, “The lyrics of ‘On Rainy Days’ do not make direct references or specifically detail the method of drinking… It’s hard to argue that the portion stating, ‘I should stop drinking’, is encouraging drinking.” The court agreed with their argument, and ruled in their favor.
The same court ruled in favor of Cube last September for the same lawsuit, suspending the enforcement of MOGEF’s ban. With this new ruling on January 5th, MOGEF must now retract their ban and the label of “harmful media” from B2ST’s album.
Cube Entertainment stated, “We hope that the cancellation of the decision labeling B2ST’s 1st album as ‘harmful media to youth’ will become a precedent to ensure the objectivity of music standards in the future.”
In related news, B2ST will be kicking off their world tour in Seoul on February 4th ~5th.

4minute talks about their relationship with BEAST

4minute recently shared some stories during an interview about their close relationship with their fellow Cube Entertainment group, BEAST.

As BEAST prepared for their comeback stage on Music Bank, 4minute was asked about their relationship with their label mates and revealed, "We treat them like our real brothers." During the interview, 4minute confessed, "As BEAST's popularity continues to grow, and with lots of female fans around, we would often be worried about them being noticed by fans for being too close with us and then have us involved in scandals."

"However, the problem is that their fans would view us not like any other girl groups but as BEAST's sibling group. We were just surprised when some of their fans would say things like, 'If ever you'll be involved in any scandal, we'd prefer you doing it with the 4minute unnies (older sisters)," the girls continued while laughing.

4minute and BEAST are from the same agency, Cube Entertainment. Although 4minute debuted a little earlier than BEAST, the fact is undeniable to fans that they have such a tight friendship.

4minute continued, "BEAST's fans have this easy mindset about us. Our fans would even pressure us that if ever we will ever have joint-stages like what we do for Gayo Daejuns or year-end specials, we should do it with no other boy group other than BEAST."

Meanwhile, 4minute has finished promoting their youthful and cute title-track track “Heart To Heart” and has passed the baton to BEAST, who are making their comeback this week with their title track “Fiction."

BEAST, 4minute, G.NA ··· They gather to sing of miracles with t shirts

The ‘boy friend’ idol group BEAST, the girl group with over flowing charisma 4minute, the ‘sexy queen’ G.NA, and the ‘Superstar K’ hero Heo Gak have gathered in one place. They have got together to participate in a photo shoot for the star style magazine to represent the donation project titled ‘HEART FOR EYE’ which is dedicated to the help blind kids see the bright new world.

Through this photo shoot, over 20 stars in the family managements, Cube Entertainment and A Cube Entertainment, have participated and in particular, the photo shoot is eye catching because of the hip hop singer Mario who was exposed more through the show ‘Invicible Baseball Team’ and the new group A Pink who will be reviving the “fairy” group tradition. It was hard gathering all 20 stars in one place, but 4minute and G.NA had gladly showed up at the photo shoot with a smile despite their current schedules. In addition, everyone had dressed in the heart shirts for the meaning of “gathering all the hearts in one” showing off their closeness and made photo shoot seem like a big family picture. .

Meanwhile, BEAST’s Yoon Doojoon stated, “I am really happy that I was able to participate in this good cause. My eyes are really bad and I had to live with glasses from 3rd grade for about 10 years. It was really uncomfortable because I couldn’t even tell who was who without any glasses or lenses. I hope that young children will be able to find their happiness of seeing the world with their two eyes,” showing adoration towards this project. The motto for the project “HEART FOR EYE” was made with the thought of curing the eyes of the kids with the beauty of fashion and the money earned from the t shirt sales will be all donated to the Samsung Seoul Hospital for the curing of children with blindness.

The project photo shoot for “HEART FOR EYE” can be found on the 51st High Cut magazine which will be sold on April 21st and the behind scenes can be found on High Cut online (www.highcut.co.kr). High Cut can be found in the main cities around the country.

Powerful 4Minute VS. Innocent APink - A battle between sister groups: "We'll not lose!"

A showdown between sister groups, 4Minute and APink, will now unfold as both groups will start promoting their respective albums.

4Minute has finally made their successful comeback through their title track, "Mirror Mirror," after a long-year hiatus in the music industry, while their dongsaeng group, APink, consisting of 7 members, is already starting their steps towards success as they wait for the official day of their debut performances.

What makes people more interested about the possible showdown of these groups are their contradicting concepts, unique style and distinct image. As one of Korea's top-performing girl groups, 4Minute represents the powerful, fierce and charismatic image of women. On the other hand, APink claims an innocent and pure image that has been hard to find in Korea's music industry for quite some time.

People find it amusing that these contrasting groups would finally make their "face-off," showing off their power and innocence to their audience.

APink is under A CUBE Entertainment, a branch of 4Minute's agency, CUBE Entertainment. APink's members had their trainee days under CUBE Entertainment and finally transferred to A CUBE right after their debut preparations has been announced. CUBE Entertainment's President and 4Minute's Producer, Hong Seongsung, took responsibility over APink's debut album while A CUBE's President, Choi Jinho, helped Hong Seonsung in launching 4Minute. Officials from both agencies said, "Both groups have a family-like relationship."

When asked about the anticipated battle between the groups, representatives from CUBE and A CUBE Entertainment answered, "The gap between their debut as well as their image or concept is very different so it's pretty hard for us to see them as real competitors. Nevertheless, 4Minute is doing very well with their recently released album, APink has been garnering a lot of interests too from the public. Both groups prepared so much for their releases and seeing both groups doing well is a real good sight for us."
