SJ-M’s official Chinese website is formally launched, fans will be able to obtain first hand information about their idol

The official Chinese website of popular idol group Super Junior-M (click here to access the webpage) was formally launched yesterday (May 18th). The official Chinese website would have mainland China as its main site, and the global Chinese market as their target audiences. The website was set up with the intention of providing all fans of Super Junior-M from the Chinese-speaking regions with the quickest and most accurate information, and in addition to that, it will also provide fans with the latest videos in the near future.
On the 29th of April, the repackaged version of Super Junior-M’s album <<Perfection>> was released simultaneously in both Korea and Taiwan, and as soon as the album hit the market, it topped several main record sales charts in Taiwan. It even maintained first place as the best selling album for 2 consecutive weeks on CCR. Apart from this, Super Junior-M was also the champion of the Japanese/Korean artists’ album sales charts. Being overseas singers who perform and release albums in Chinese, the achievements that they have attained are on par with that of Taiwan’s first line singers. At the moment, SJ-M has started their promotions in mainland China and their promotional activitites in Taiwan are also in full swing.

Ryeowook’s Chinese is most fluent, Kyuhyun strives to be the number one male singer

SJ-M’s Chinese have improved tremendously, Ryeowook had started learning Chinese much earlier and therefore he speaks the language well. Kyuhyun was also in no way conceding to Ryeowook, as he managed to say an idiom which meant “2 people are able to communicate telepathically without the need for words”, and at the same time he also performed “If You Have Heard Before” without having the need to look at the song lyrics. The original singer A-mei also praised Kyuhyun for his accurate pronunciation, whereas a fan jokingly said that: “Kyuhyun’s ambition of wanting to secure the number one male singer position in the Chinese music industry is back.”
Ryeowook is good at using pinyin, and he often leaves messages on Twitter using Chinese pinyin, and he had also recounted his diary on the radio broadcast of <<I Like Radio>> entirely using Chinese, showing exceptional diligence. He said that when he was young, he had not had the chance to visit a zoo, and this time he took the opportunity to visit Muzha1, and the smell of that place is much fresher and cleaner than he had expected. He was almost moved to tears when he saw the giraffes, and he bought two souvenir toys to bring back to Korea.
CTS <<Golden Stage>> producer Liu An Hua said, there wasn’t any problems communicating with them, and SJM would even look for a member of staff to practice their Chinese, using gestures at times to communicate. But when they met their idol Zhang Huimei (A-Mei), Ryeowook and Sungmin’s thoughts became knotted, addressing her as “older sister”, and they repeatedly said: “You are beautiful!” but did not dare to look directly at her.

'Superstar K' to hold auditions overseas

The popular cable show modeled after “American Idol” will hold sessions in Tokyo, Sendai and Osaka, as well as Beijing and New York in June. Auditions for local talent are currently being held in eight locations around Korea.

“Superstar K” will hold auditions in Japan, China and the United States this summer to select contestants for the third season of the talent show, Mnet said Tuesday.

“We launched ‘Superstar K’ in order to give a chance to aspiring singers, mostly comprising of people who have wanted to sing but didn’t have the opportunity to do so. We decided to provide these services so that people can participate more easily,” said Kim Ki-woong, director of “Superstar K.”

Last season’s “Superstar K” created a sensation as John Park, a Korean-American who appeared in “American Idol,” took part in the competition. The eventual winner, Huh Gak, a ventilator repairman, also became a household name.

“Considering how travel remains difficult in eastern Japan after the earthquakes, we decided to go there ourselves,” said organizers of the program through a press release.

Participants in each city will take part in a two-part screening process. Contenders from Korea and Japan will compete against one another in a third round, while those that make the cut will vie in a fourth and final screening against participants from New York and Beijing.

The latter, called “Super Week,” will be held in Seoul in August, and organizers will provide transportation and accommodation for those traveling from overseas as well as those from Jeju Island.
The program’s popularity spread overseas, particularly in Japan. Some 90 percent of applicants from the neighboring coutnry this year are Japanese, unlike the strong ethnic Korean demographics of hopefuls in Beijing and New York, said Mnet.

The winner will be entitled to a cash prize of $500,000, concert opportunities and a recording contract.

B2ST displays dominance over Asian music fans through their first solo concert

Although they debuted only last year, B2ST was able to confirm their command of the Asian music market through their first-ever solo concert, held recently on December 12th.

B2ST opened their ‘Welcome to B2ST Airlines’ concert at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium, where fans from not only Korea, but also from Japan, China, Hong Kong and Thailand came together to form the 8,000-member audience for the event.

But that’s not all – according to a representative from their agency, Cube Entertainment, both Korean and overseas fans who were unable to grab a ticket stood outside the venue in the cold, listening to the music and waiting for the concert to end so that they may catch a glimpse of their idols’ faces as they walked out.
The representative stated, “The day before the concert (11th), 5-6 fans from Taiwan who were unable to buy a ticket came to the company building and asking if there was any way for them to purchase a ticket. These fans prepared themselves with blankets so that they could wait outside the venue in case somebody would come and say that they weren’t able to attend, and were consequently looking to sell their tickets.”

In the end, there were about 10 people who came to the venue trying to sell their ticket, and 5-6 of those tickets were bought by international fans. It wasn’t confirmed whether those fans were the same Taiwanese fans who came to the company building.

After the concert, B2ST headed off to a restaurant with their guest performers and fellow agency artists (G.na and 4minute) to celebrate the end of the concert. The fans somehow found out which restaurant they went to and waited outside once again just to see their faces. Around about 100 fans were still waiting, even past midnight.

Han Geng wishes to try rock music for his upcoming album, would like to collaborate with new rock bands

In May this year, Han Geng who was embroiled in a contract termination controversy braved all odds and appeared as the music industry’s new energy at the starting-up press conference to show support. After submitting to the five big figures in the music industry his work that he returned to the Mainland Chinese music industry with, he received praise and commendation from these five big music industry figures, and they all expressed desire to chip in for his new album. In his first individual album, there was a song recorded that was produced by Yuan Wei Ren. As of today, Han Geng’s debut film is fervently in the process of shooting, and the director is no other than one of the five big music industry figures Gao Xiao Song. When accepting an exclusive interview from <Yin Yue Feng Yun Bang>, Han Geng expresses that it is nothing short of rare to be able to attract so many music industry warriors fighting for their dreams, and he really respects and admires them. At every compilation album’s release, he himself very much looks forward to it, and after closely listening he feels that the quality and standard of these music figures who make original works are all very good, and if there is a chance he would very like to work with them in his next album.
According to reports, Han Geng’s second album is already in the process of song selection. Han Geng, who is always changing himself and trying out new things, he expressed that he was very surprised after listening to the fifth “Red Bull New Energy Music Project” album. Because usually, he likes to listen to English music (American and European), and the styles of all the 10 rock bands were pretty internationalized. What he did not think of was that teenagers who joined the “Red Bull New Energy Music Project” could compose outstanding pieces of rock music. And, during an interview, Han Geng revealed that he hopes that in his new album, he can add in the element of rock, and works with the new rock bands. He also looks forward to a chance to collaborate with new rock voices in China to release more energy and passion during performance.
