Teen Top Performance on JCN x M.Net, Japanese Showcase

QUOTE
JCN x Mnet held an event and invited Mnet's members 250 pairs for free.
New generation boys band TEENTOP from Korea made a guest appearance in this event.

QUOTE
At first, members came on stage and started to perform "Clap".
The event started with audience's huge excitement.

≪Enjoying school life with TEENTOP≫
According to the concept "Enjoying school life with TEENTOP!", desks and chairs were prepared on the stage. TEENTOP as students took theirs seats and each member greeted the audience.
They who held an official fan meeting in November came to Japan for the first time in 3 months and finished shooting public recording of Mnet's K-POP ZONE on the day before. The class was started with their speech, "Yesterday, fan's cheering made us did our best.We had so fun time, so please give us your cheering today, too".

All members of TEENTOP are teenagers.
When MC(?) told the audience two members would be entering high school this year, the audience gave a shout of
surprise.

Making a couple of players, each member painted partner's portrait and introduced it.
Chunji: <→showing cap's portrait>
His nickname is monkey... and his character is like a Gorilla. (laughter) He has a little of being a hot temper.

C.A.P: <→Chunji> (When he showed Chunji's portrait, it made the audience got laugh)
Unclouded eyes, small face and i wanted to add his broad shoulders too but the result is like this. Character is innocent and mischievous.

L.Joe: <→Niel> (lips which he painted made the audience got laugh)
At first, these lips I painted are true to life. About his character, he is really good boy.

Niel: <→L.Joe> He looks like a chick. His present hair color is pink, it seems to be a cockscomb.

Ricky: <→Changjo> I observe his face and paint this as his face. As you can see, his face is like a naughty boy.He has a little of being a brat.

Changjo: <→Ricky> We are at same age and maknaes but Ricky is pretty for me.
I paint his portrait with the image of a child. He's still a boy, but he gets matured little by little.I painted like that boy.

≪National Language class≫
Playing the word game by using world proverbs and famous lines in movies.

1.Making a sentence by using "a family is death to an artist."(From Movie"Shadows and Fog")

Chunji: "Water and rides are death to CAP"...he doesn't like a swimming pool, sea, and rides in an amusement park.
MC: Do you hate an amusement park?
C.A.P: I never go there.
MC: Does it mean you wouldn't like to go to an amusement park on a date?
C.A.P: I've never thought like that.(audience:laughter)

Chunji: "Without full lips is death to Niel"
MC: Does it mean these lips are pride?
Niel: Don't you think so?These are charming, right?(audience: hand clap)

Ricky: "Without caps is death to CAP hyung"
C.A.P: Because I like caps.I like to collect caps and i wear a cap on 300days out of 365days

QUOTE
MC: How many caps do you have?
C.A.P: I've never count how many, but I think I have more than 100.
MC: Is your room filled with caps?
C.A.P: Yes, almost. In my bed, there are my caps about half of my clothes(?).

He is said that caps suit cap from other members, he revealed the origin of his stage name. "It's come from Charisma's C etc which I consulted with office stuffs and decided. But it's came from reason I like caps after all. "

2.Making a sentence by using "I would like to paint the way a bird sings."(Painter Claude Monet)

L.Joe: "I would like to have full lips as Niel has."I sometimes watch his lips and I think so.
MC: Everyone praised your lips, how do you feel about ?
Niel: I've never thought my lips has great popularity like this.

Niel: "I would like to sing and dance the way Michael Jackson did."
MC: As we have seen, you're very good at.Aren't you?
Niel: Thank you very much.

QUOTE
≪Music class≫
MC: Your second single CD has just been on sale.Could you talk about it?
Niel: "Supa Luv" is the song about a confident man saying to a lady "There's no one in the world can love you as much as I can."

MV of that song was screened. In that MV, Eric gave each member missions of looking for "Supa Luv". "He gave us various advices and said to us "Don't be nervous." at the shooting location. He reminded staying there and checked our acting after his shooting. We are thankful to him for watching over us."

Then, they were asked to show their choreography of "Supa Luv" and showed choreography of blowing kisses. They said "Walking or sleeping, we practiced on jumping choreography in the street or dorm. We did so hard that I couldn't count it."
Then, they showed precise choreography of jumping and said "That's why we are TEENTOP." The audience clapped their hands and cheered wildly. They also showed "Supa Luv" after they showed "Matrix dance" Ricky's bending himself back and "Affected city boy's dance"all members moving their shoulders. The perfect performance made the audience excited so much.

≪A questionnaire with 100 female middle and high-school students. Who do you choose as your boyfriend?≫

During recess, interview with students choosing one member from TEENTOP as your boyfriend was screened and members predicted that ranking. They were glad and sad at the result of the questionnaire.

QUOTE
≪Physical training class≫
They had the game played by two teams of each member given the theme"a fan who is ____ ."
They had to search and take that fan to the stage as soon as possible.
Ricky searching "parent and child" and CAP searching "a fan whose birthday is today" won first place in each team. They had arm wrestling, and CAP won at last.
He got 100,000 yen tickets for expensive Yakiniku restaurant, but he said "Whoever wins, we use them together."

QUOTE
≪Homeroom≫
They read homework of essays they wrote about their dreams.

C.A.P:

Supernova shares thoughts on Japanese activities and Korean comeback

After wrapping up their sold-out showcase in Japan’s Yokohama Arena on December 21st, Supernova met with reporters at a post-conference and revealed their thoughts on completing a successful year overseas.

Supernova started, “We’re extremely thankful for so many fans outside of Japan and Korea coming to visit our ‘Supernova Show 2010.’  It’s because of everyone’s support that we’ve made it this far.

The group previously recorded all six of their concerts selling out and went on to add, “Our main purpose was to properly deliver K-POP music.  The songs we promoted in Korea with fit well with the strategies we used in Japan.”

Their concert itself was nothing short of a hit, as it managed to gather over 12,000 fans of all age groups.  The group performed  a total of 28 different tracks, including “Get Wild,” “Ai Kotoba,” “Love Letter,”  and many others.  They also introduced a few Korean songs as well, including their August hit track, “On Days I Miss You,” a Christmas carol, “La La La,” and “My Memory.”

Their fans also refused to budge once the concert came to an end, only started filing out after the boys performed three encores.

One of the more interesting points of the concert was that an interpreter would not have been found on the scene, as all six members are fluent in Japanese.  All of the productions held on stage were delivered 100% in Japanese, confirming the group’s status as the Korean idol group with the most natural speech.

A production manager from their Japanese team commented, “Supernova reached out to a large variety of audiences through singing for dramas, which mothers watch, and helped K-pop become more largely accepted.  Their skills are exceptional and they have a stable fanbase as well.”

Member Yoon Hak stated, “Our Japanese tactic was to use the K-pop style as a base.  Our recent track,Shining Star,’ was produced by Brave Brothers and ranked fourth on the Oricon chart.

Sungje continued, “Of course there are difficulties.  We thought a lot about giving up because we couldn’t achieve much success in Korea.  Instead of giving up, however, we grouped together even tighter and learned Japanese as if our lives were on the line.

When asked to reflect on the amount of love they’ve been receiving three years into their debut, Supernova continued, “When we first came to Japan, we weren’t able to contract with a distribution company.  We had to study Japanese and personally visit record companies.  There were a lot of times we wanted to give up, but those feelings developed into wanting to try even harder.  With that determination, we’ve made it this far.

Regarding the many K-pop groups crossing over to Japan, such as SNSD, KARA, 4minute, the Brown Eyed Girls, B2ST, U-KISS and 2PM, member Yoon Hak continued, “K-pop is addictive and it’s difficult to not be seduced by it.  I hope that we can all support each other as juniors and seniors to achieve good results.

Wrapping up the conference with comments on their future activities, Supernova disclosed, “We’ll be releasing a new album around March or April of 2011 in Korea.  We’ll also be participating in a wide range of genres such as musicals, sitcoms, and MCing positions.”

BEAST brings the high potential for more hallyu fever in Japan

<Omitted For Common Info (Check Here)>

BEAST stood in front of the Japanese fans in the “pet-idol” appearance instead of their usual “beast-idol” look. In particular, the aegyo (cuteness) parade from the main vocal Yang Yoseob won many praises from the fans. It was literally what BEAST had meant before they got on stage, “We don’t think of ourselves as ‘beast-idols’. Our charms are a variety.”

It is said that a true artist shows off their genuine presence on stage. BEAST, who had commented that “they had studied their Japanese, but it is still a bit rough,” was able to control the hearts of the fans in the showcase that lasted for an hour. The cuteness and charisma that emitted from them was enough to get the fans hyped up.

One male fan who was at the showcase commented, “The energy that comes out in their strong performances is very attractive.” Reuna (17), who visited the showcase with her mother said, “I like Yoseob who is cute the best,” and added, “In Japan, Yoseob is the most popular.” Maiko (29) from Kanahyun commented, “Yoseob is usually cute, but on stage he changes,” and added, “You can see the other opposite side of him.”

The twin dancers Kensukae (18) and Sunsukae (18) who visited the showcase with 5 other friends confessed, “We practice dancing from watching BEAST’s performances.” Tomoae (32) and Tamaae (23) from Chiba stated that they found out about BEAST through the TV and bought the CD after searching the internet. The siblings found an ad for the showcase and ended up coming. They also stated that they are planning to attend the solo concert in Korea and added, “I hope that they come to Japan often, but we are watching their activities in Korea as well. It’s fun.”

Uka (37) from Sizoka commented, “It was really beautiful seeing the members taking care of each other on stage. This is a group that will definitely last long.”

Ukari (42) who came in the vehicle provided by Kusue stated, “I watched BEAST since their debut days. I have been waiting thinking that one day they will be coming to Japan. The charm of BEAST is their impressive singing and performance skills. On stage they are charismatic, but off stage they are friendly and cute. That is what makes them different.”

Mai (20) who drove the 5 hour distance for the showcase commented, “It was good because you could see the stage well from any angle. The performance was overfilling. I came with my friend and I think she fell in love with BEAST as well.”

BEAST ranked high among DBSK and Super Junior, who had also made their debut in Japan. Apart from the female groups like Girls Generation and Kara and the split group JYJ, BEAST appearance in Japan gave a preview of the new hallyu wave they will bring to the boy fandom. Also, BEAST will be having a rivalry with the group 2PM which will be debuting in Japan in December showing the true hallyu power.

Meanwhile, BEAST’s showcase will be broadcasted on NTV ‘Zoom In Super’ and Fuji TV ‘Tokunanae’ on the 29th. BEAST will be coming back to Korea in the morning of the 28th and appear on SBS ‘Inkigayo’.

Traveling in a helicopter, BEAST's first showcase in Japan is a success

[My Daily = Tokyo Japan Baek Solmi Reporter] The helicopter is high above the grounds of Tokyo, Japan. On the 27th, BEAST had traveled in Japan from Haneda Airport to the big site located in Tokyo Ohdaiba from their first showcase titled ‘THE LEGEND OF BEAST VOL.1’. With their official debut album hitting the stores, BEAST had used about 100,000 dollars by using a rented helicopter to reach the fans and give them a very special time.

Riding the helicopter with BEAST’s name written on it, they were warmly greeted by the fanbase when they saw the “human letter” formation made by the fans on the big parking lot. BEAST members commented that it was “touching at its truest form” took pictures and videos as they were suspended in the air for 20 minutes on the helicopter.

Before the showcase stated, in the press conference leader Yoon Doojoon stated, “I have been to Japan many times due to performances, but this is my first coming officially for a special occasion. I’m honored that we will be able to continue with the showcase with all the love and attention from everyone.” He also added, “Honestly, we are so nervous that we are doubting if we can go through with this showcase. But they say the start is already the half way mark, so we will try our best. Korea, and Japan, we will try our best to be on top.”

Their concert stage was made up of 10,000 seats on one floor and it was prepared so that fans will be able to observe the looks of BEAST at every angle. Also, there were 6 screen positions above the stage so that the fans will be able to see BEAST’s precise movements, expressions, and not miss a thing.

In order to celebrate BEAST’s first showcase G.NA, from their management, sang ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live’ starting off the show. When G.NA’s show passed, all of the lights in the room were turned off and the fans arose from their seats waiting for BEAST. Like a surprise, starting with Yong Junhyung, then Yang Yoseob, Son Dongwoon, Yoon Doojoon, Jang Hyunseung, and the rest of them came up from the bottom of the stage, showing off a short dance performance signaling the start of the showcase.

BEAST was dressed in a black suit and sang ‘Shock’ live as their first song and when fans started to sing along, it was almost like a stage in Korea. On the stage were the lion and tiger from the zoo in Japan to add into the strong feel of BEAST. After their first song, BEAST introduced themselves with “So BEAST, Hajimaemasidae,” greeting the fans. Then when Yang Yoseob covered his face with his hands because he was adding in this comment and felt embarrassed, fans screamed out “kawaii” as this scene flashed on screen leading the stage into a sea of laughter.

After, they performed ‘Mystery’, ‘Clenching A Fist Tight’, ‘Bad Girl’, and after changing into white suits, they sang ‘Breath’ and ‘Easy’ showing the fans in Japan their own style of charms. In between the performances, BEAST added in their commentary and expressed love towards the Japanese fans. From 6PM to 7PM, for an hour, BEAST swayed the hearts of the fans.

When the announcer stated that there was only one more song left, the fans looked at each other and expressed their sadness. With the last song ‘Special’ left, Lee Kikwang commented, “I was really happy and touched. I hope that you guys will continue to show us endless love and attention in the future. I love you.” Yoon Doojoon added, “I keep on saying this, but thank you. Please don’t forget this memory between us. Next time we come back, we will be much cuter and prettier,” thanking the fans.

Fans filled with sadness shouted “encore” and BEAST members came back out wearing shirts with their name on it and sang ‘Oasis’ and ‘Beautiful’. When the showcase ended, BEAST shook hands with 6,000 fans in a high touch festival and they will be returning to Korea on the morning of the 28th. Successfully completing the showcase in 1 hour, with 10,000 fans, BEAST will be officially debuting in Japan during the February of next year and will be officially starting their promotions in Japan.

Also, BEAST’s showcase gained attention because of the variety of genders ranging from people in their 10s to their 40s. Also, in 10 minutes of the ticket sales, all the seats were sold out and Asahi Newspapers, Sankai Newspapers, Nitkan Sports, Fuji TV, Nihon TV, TV Asahi, NHK, and 40 different media reporters were present to witness BEAST’s popularity.

The video clip of BEAST with 10,000 fans in 1 hour will be broadcasted on NTV ‘Zoom In Super’ and Fuji TV ‘Tokunanae’ on the 29th.

JYJ's First Showcase: "We Finally Stood On Stage With Mics In Hand" + Q&A

TVXQ members Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu, who formed a male trio JYJ, finally stood in front of their Korean fans for the first time.

At 9PM on the 12th, JYJ held their 「JYJ Worldwide Showcase」 in Hwajeong Gymnasium, Korea University, Anam-dong, Seoul, and showed off their bright and confident images.

On that day, it was the first public exhibit of JYJ's first worldwide album 「The Beginning」, which the trio had worked together with famous American producers Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins. During the LIVE, 4 songs from that album, as well as the OST song 「Chajatta」 from KBS2's drama 「Sungkyunkwan Scandal」, were introduced. This album has attracted a lot of attention because it includes songs by each of the trio, composed from when they were teens. Through their powerful voices and refined choreography, one could catch a glimpse of the sincerity and effort the trio have put into this album.

Next, is a question and answer with JYJ:

-- How do you feel, standing on the stage after such a long time?

JJ: Completely grateful. This is the first time we recorded an album in which the songs are all in English, so it might be unfamiliar, but as the fans are familiar with our voices, I hope they'll listen to it well. As we spent a lot of time preparing for this album, I hope that the fans will enjoy it with all their hearts.

-- This is JYJ's first album. Are there any new feelings?

JS: The album and our music are our means of communication with the fans, so I worried a lot. Through our fans' support, we were able to release the album without any problems, so I'm really happy.

-- The producers involved in this album are very famous people.

YC: I'm really happy to have been able to work with such famous people that I've only heard about when I was living in the United States during my childhood. The recording also has special sentimental value because the recording studio that we used also had connections to Michael Jackson.

-- In June, after the LIVE in Japan's Tokyo Dome, Jaejoong cried as he came down the stage.

JJ: Before we did the performances at the Tokyo Dome, we also had a round of LIVES at Osaka. In Osaka, I started crying from the very first song. All the things that we couldn't express in words were expressed through our expressions. After we sang the last song at the Tokyo Dome, the fans started shouting "Don't cry", and that was when the tears came. It wasn't for the past nor the future; those tears were to express the sadness (I felt) for the present situation.

-- Are there any idols among the Korean idols that have caught your eye?

YC: I've been really busy lately so I haven't really been watching TV. Although I've only heard their song and not seen them on TV, it seems like Miss A surpasses (the rest) in terms of ability.

-- Your resolution henceforth.

YC: We were able to hold mics and stand on stage, as well as meet our fans again. From now on when we release a second album, or when we release albums in future, I hope that people will have the thought of always wanting to listen to our songs. I'm really happy that I've been so busy during this period of time. I would be happy if it's the same in future.

JYJ Showcase In Seoul – “Unable To Express With Words”

Making a comeback as JYJ, TVXQ members Hero Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun, and Xiah Junsu had their debut showcase ‘JYJ Worldwide Showcase in Seoul’ for their new album ‘The Beginning’ on the night of October 12 at Korea University Hwajung Gymnasium.
With Kim Tae Hyun initiating the interactions between the fans as the MC, the members of JYJ revealed their honest feelings about returning the Korea’s music scene.
With regards to the reason for their tears at their Tokyo Dome Live, they replied, “Tears already came out at the start of the performance. When we were unable to express ourselves with words, our expressions were more frank and open, but in the future, we will try our best to smile during sad times.”
JYJ reminisced saying, “At that time, the members promised not to cry until the very end, but we couldn’t hold it in any longer. It wasn’t because of the past, nor the future, but because of the current situation. This is for sure a feeling that cannot be expressed with words.”
Through this time’s showcase, JYJ revealed for the first time to their Korean fans, their worldwide album, ‘The Beginning’, which was produced by Kanye West and other top American producers. The live songs they say included ‘Ayyy Girl’, ‘Empty’, ‘Be My Girl’, among others. Especially, with a sales volume of over 100 000 copies, the main OST that received popularity through TV drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, ‘Chajatta’ received a massive response from fans at the showcase.
