Hyun Bin was picked as the #1 actor who helped 2011 shine.

On December 21st, according to Korean Gallup, a poll was taken from November 18th to December 7th, in which 1,728 people, over the age of 13, participated .

Hyun Bin took 1st place with 9.2% of the votes due to his role as Kim Joo Won in SBS‘s ‘Secret Garden‘.

The actor had placed 5th in 2010′s poll, but after the airing of ‘Secret Garden’ he climbed up to 1st place in 2011 – evidencing that ‘Secret Garden syndrome’ is still at large.

Han Suk Kyu from SBS’s ‘Tree with Deep Roots‘ placed 2nd with 7.1% of the votes, while Kim Tae Hee grabbed 3rd with 7% of the votes for her drama, MBC‘s ‘My Princess‘.

Su Ae followed next for SBS’s ‘Thousand Day Promise‘, in which she played an emotional character undergoing Alzheimer’s, while Jang Hyuk came in 5th for SBS’s ‘Tree with Deep Roots’.

After those names came Go Doo Shim, Song Joong Ki, Lee Soon Jae, Lee Seung Gi, and Kang Boo Ja.

Actor Song Joong Ki took the #1 spot on the survey among idols for ‘The Top 10 Stars idols want to spend Christmas with’.

Recently on MBC Every1′s ‘Weekly Idol’, some of the idol groups including Wonder Girls, T-ara, A Pink, B1A4 were present and in the survey for ‘The Top 10 Stars idols want to spend Christmas with’, Song Joong Ki received the most votes ranking #1 on the list.

The idols who picked Song Joong Ki pointed out as their reasons, “Need someone handsome at the party”, and “I think he would be fun.”

Uee and Song Joong Ki As Barbie and Ken

Uee and Song Joong Ki were picked as this year’s Barbie and Ken!

On December 6, Uee and Song Joong Ki were a part of the 2011 Barbie and Ken Awards and Fashion Show. The event was held by Mattel Korea at Cheongdamdong Beyond Museum. The event was a celebration of Barbie being a Generation, Cultural, and Fashion icon for 52 years.

The event chose one male and female celebrity that had a positive effect on culture, as fashion icons much like Barbie and Ken. The winner receives a special collector edition doll. Last year’s winners were Hwang Jung Eum and Kim Bum.

On this day, Uee and Song Joong Ki received their special edition doll award and a there was also a Barbie and Ken fashion show that showed the fashion of many prominent South Korean fashion stylists.

First look at Song Joong-ki in character as Se-jong the Great! With his newest role, he goes from Joseon-era pretty boy (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) to Joseon-era royalty.

Song is playing the younger version of the famous king in Tree With Deep Roots, the anticipated sageuk drama from the Queen Seon-deok writers that also stars Jang Hyuk, Han Seok-kyu, and Shin Se-kyung.

Song Joong Ki to leave “Running Man”

Having first joined the program less than a year ago, actor Song Joong Ki has announced that he will be leaving SBS’s “Running Man.”
The actor completed his final recording on April 18th and officially announced his departure then. 
A representative of his agency stated, “It was a difficult decision to make for him, but he felt that he needed to focus on his acting more after his movie filming. He’s developed such strong bonds with the castmates, so he’s very upset. Song Joong Ki completed his final recording on the 18th and did the best he possibly could. Please look forward to the broadcast on May 1st.”

His replacement is currently undecided. PD Jo Hyo Jin stated, “We haven’t thought of making an addition yet. For now, we’ll be going ahead with the members that are left.”
Song Joong Ki is currently working on “Every Little Makes Romance” with Han Ye Seul.

Song Joong Ki’s good looks reminds Daesung of himself?

Big Bang’s Daesung recently made a ludicrous statement that made many people laugh.

During an episode of SBS Running Man that aired on the 27th, Daesung made a guest appearance where he reunited with MC Yoo Jae Suk as the infamous ‘dumb and dumber’ combo created during their days back in SBS Family Outing. “Running Man” Mascot Song Joong-Ki Was Worried About Doing Variety

“Positive Joong-ki,” who always gets a positive outcome in the games for variety program “Running Man” reminisced his first uneasy days on the show.

In a recent interview, Song Joong-ki confessed, “In the early days of filming for ‘Running Man,’ I was extremely tense.” He explained, “Since it was my first time doing variety programming, I didn’t have the slightest idea of what I had to do. I could barely sleep the night before filming.”

Song Joongki and U-know Yunho show off their drawing skills on SBS “Running Man”

TVXQ’s U-know Yunho and actor Song Joongki have evoked a lot of laughter on SBS “Running Man” due to their drawing skills. The members of “Running Man” were split into two teams and played a game where one needed to describe a word through a drawing and relay it to the last person. The last person in line would then have to guess what the drawing is.

U-know Yunho and Song Joongki’s drawing skills were revealed when they attempted to draw a rhino and a toilet, respectively. Song Joongki’s drawing drew laughter from everyone as his drawing looked more like a robot than a toilet. One of U-know Yunho’s first attempts was to draw a ginseng, but the drawing ended up looking like a radish instead. His rhino drawing was also completely unrecognizable by other players.

On the same episode of running man, TVXQ succeeded in their mission and the “Running Man” team were punished for the first time. In addition, TVXQ also danced to SNSD’s “Gee” and ABBA’s “Dancing Queen”.

Big Bang's T.O.P is a candidate for Full House season two cast

Originally starring Rain and Song Hye Kyo, the 16-episode drama Full House received high broadcast ratings throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States. Representatives from Kim Jong Hak Productions recently revealed that steps have been taken to plan and produce season two; three episodes' scripts have already been written.

Company sources confirm that communication with potential broadcasting stations has finally begun. While Full House was originally broadcast by KBS in 2004, Kim Jong Hak Productions is now in talks with SBS. However, a representative stated, "nothing is set in terms of airing times, what station it'll air on, and who'll star in the drama."

According to the source, celebrities have not yet been asked to star in the drama. However, strong candidates include Song Joong Ki, Shin Min Ah, and Big Bang’s T.O.P.

Song Joong Ki visits Singapore for ‘Tony Moly’ fan signing

Actor Song Joong Ki spent a fun time with fans while visiting Singapore last week.

The actor arrived in Singapore on the night of December 18th, and was immediately greeted by his fans as he emerged from the arrival hall at Changi International Airport. 

On the 20th, he attended a press conference for the cosmetics brand, Tony Moly (which he endorses for), followed by a fan signing that attracted over 3,000 fans.

During his interview in the midst of his fan signing, Song Joong Ki stated, “I didn’t think so many fans would come to see me, so I’m really happy and thankful. I believe that the only way I can respond to my fans’ support is through good acting, so I’ll be working even harder.”

Tony Moly Singapore is set to officially unveil its latest ambassador Song Joong-kit (picture) on Dec 20!


The Sungkyunkwan Scandal actor will be meeting fans at the Tony Moly store at Bugis Square, Level 1 (next to Bugis Junction McDonalds) at 4pm.

Tony Moly, a beauty and skin care brand from South Korea, was first introduced to the Lion City in September 2010. A flagship store was then opened in Bugis Junction on Nov 17.

Now, in celebration of the store’s opening and in creating a “star-ry” Christmas, Song Joong-kit will be appearing to fans at the store.

JYJ’s Park Yoochun, Park Minyoung, Yoo Ahin and Song Joongki’s exceptional drama, SungKyunKwan Scandal, has been chosen as the best Korean drama of 2010 by fourteen of 10Asia’s reporters.

Along with the recognition, the reporters showered the drama and it’s cast with praise while also noting the drama’s weaknesses.

Critics said that although it was not the most well-made drama, it was the drama with the most meaning.
One reporter noted that that drama touched on everything from romance to questions about principles, reform, intelligence and more, making it the “the year’s discovery” that nobody expected. Yoon Hee Sung says “There were many dramas that made the viewers laugh and cry but there was no other drama that warmed our hearts to this extent.”

SungKyunKwan Scandal’ Casts Attended JYJ First Solo Concert: ‘A Friendship Show Off’

At the first worldwide concert of Dong Bang trio JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu), the casts of KBS 2TV drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ were spotted attending the venue.

The ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ casts namely Song Jong Ki and Yu Ah in attended ‘JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul’ which started on November 27th at 8 pm. The two people were the members of ‘Jalgeum Trio’ in the drama along with Park Yoochun and their attendance indeed showed a strong friendship among these three actors. The only main characters in ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ who didn’t attend is Park Min Young who happened to have a shooting schedule at the same day.

Representatives of the two actors said, “Despite the freezing cold weather, they made their way to the venue to watch the concert. Eventhough the drama had been completed, they still sincerely stay in contact with each other.”

Today is the first concert of JYJ conducted in South Korea. Fans from China and all over Asia were seen gathering at the concert venue to watch the performance.

World famous concert director/choreographer Jeri Slaughter who is in charge to manage the Seoul concert has planned to build a roof screen with original dome structure on the concert venue for the first time, however due to hail fall since yesterday morning, the ‘concert’s roof’ was failed to complete as in the prior plan.

Meanwhile before starting the concert, JYJ sent their message of condolences on stage to all Yeonpyeongdo island victims.

Song Joong Ki wants to “love like crazy” for his next drama

On November 6th, KBS 2TV ‘Entertainment Relay’ stopped by the final broadcast of ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ and met with actor Song Joong Ki, who expressed his thoughts on the drama finally coming to a close.

The actor revealed, “To be honest I feel much more light-hearted, because I’ve been so tired lately.. But I’m sad all the same.”

When the reporter asked about his thoughts on not having a love story for his character, Song Joong Ki expressed, “I’m relieved that I wasn’t part of a love line, but in my next production, I want to love like crazy.”

Song Joong-ki, who has an appearance that attracts every girl and has great acting skills, also has a complex like everybody else.

During KBS 2TV 'Entertainment Weekly', Song Joong-ki, who is well known for playing Goo Yong-ha in 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal', confessed, “I want Yoo Ah-in's lips, not in sexual way though.”

Song Joong-ki said, “My complex is my lips. I occasionally saw Yoo Ah-in's lips during the shooting of 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal', and I really envy these lips.”
