Hyun Bin was picked as the #1 actor who helped 2011 shine.

On December 21st, according to Korean Gallup, a poll was taken from November 18th to December 7th, in which 1,728 people, over the age of 13, participated .

Hyun Bin took 1st place with 9.2% of the votes due to his role as Kim Joo Won in SBS‘s ‘Secret Garden‘.

The actor had placed 5th in 2010′s poll, but after the airing of ‘Secret Garden’ he climbed up to 1st place in 2011 – evidencing that ‘Secret Garden syndrome’ is still at large.

Han Suk Kyu from SBS’s ‘Tree with Deep Roots‘ placed 2nd with 7.1% of the votes, while Kim Tae Hee grabbed 3rd with 7% of the votes for her drama, MBC‘s ‘My Princess‘.

Su Ae followed next for SBS’s ‘Thousand Day Promise‘, in which she played an emotional character undergoing Alzheimer’s, while Jang Hyuk came in 5th for SBS’s ‘Tree with Deep Roots’.

After those names came Go Doo Shim, Song Joong Ki, Lee Soon Jae, Lee Seung Gi, and Kang Boo Ja.

To see who the top CF stars in Korea are, Daily Sports compiled a list of the top seven, as rated by the number of products they’ve endorsed from June 2010 to May 2011. Check out the list below!

3. 2PM: Their beastly image certainly did wonders in breaking through to the advertisement market. With various drink CFs under their belt, they’ve tied with Big Bang for a total of 10 endorsements. They’ve even signed a two-year contract with one drink company. The secret behind their success is that all they need to do is go topless to achieve high sales.

4. Song Joong Ki: Ever since “Sungkyunkwan Scandal“, this actor’s been on the rise and currently has a total of eight endorsements under his belt, ranging from cosmetics to cameras, pizzas, and laptops.

5. Hyun Bin: Although he’s currently serving in the army, fans can still see him on the small screen. The success of “Secret Garden” earned him a total of eight endorsement deals, six of which were shot within the two months before his enlistment. MBC’s representative revealed, “When a drama hits jackpot, you can make an advertisement without the need for any other special storytelling. His popular phrases won’t be erased from the minds of consumers.”

6. Jo In Sung: Though it’s been only a month since his discharge, he’s already on the rise to becoming one of the top stars of the advertising industry. Jo In Sung’s become the new face of various smartphone and beer brands, for a total of seven deals. He’s reportedly earned $4 million USD in just CF recordings alone.

7. Won Bin: Although he isn’t seen often in dramas or movies, his handsome looks is still a favorite amongst advertisers. His looks are captivating enough to hold the attention of consumers with just one glance, so it’s no wonder why he’s so popular. A representative of the industry stated, “The popularity of ‘The Man From Nowhere‘ really escalated his sexy image, so he’s a popular choice with female consumers.” Won Bin rounds out the list with a total of six CFs.

Hyun Bin releases a remake from his past OST hit, “Can’t Have You”

Actor Hyun Bin releases a digital remake of "Can't Have you" today. It is a theme song from his 2009 drama, "Friend, Our Legend".

The song was originally done by Bank, but received further popularity after Hyun Bin covered it two years ago; viewers felt that it brought out a certain charm in Hyun Bin that they couldn’t see clearly from his drama role. The song even went overseas, as it was briefly featured in a Japanese drama as well.

Representatives of the song’s distributor commented, “The song was remade because of Hyun Bin’s affections for the song.” Considering how he’s leaving for the marines today, it’s more than likely that it’s a parting gift from the actor.

Hyun Bin to sing male version of ‘That Man’ for ‘Secret Garden’ OST album

It was recently announced that actor Hyun Bin, who is currently acting as Kim Juwon for his drama, “Secret Garden”, will be participating in the OST production by singing a track titled, “That Man.”

“Hyun Bin, who feels great attachment to the drama, was closely consulted with in order work around his busy filming and year-end schedules for the OST production. With Hyun Bin’s participation, the album’s run toward becoming a legendary OST album has only accelerated and is becoming more realistic,” said producer Jung Seung Woo, the CEO of Achieve Group DN.

The representative continued to explain, “Recently, ‘Secret Garden’ has been the biggest trend both online and offline.
