Hangeng Donates $14,700 to Mudslide Relief Efforts

Hangeng recently donated 100,000 RMB (Chinese currency), or $14727.50 USD to help support relief efforts for a mudslide which occurred two weeks ago in Gansu, China.During his conference and fanmeets in China, Hangeng was consistently seen with an armband bearing the words “Solidarity with
Chuanqu” to show his support for those helping out at the scene. He also asked the audience to pray with him for the victims before each session and for a moment of silence for all who had died from the mudslide.

The Red Cross Foundation of China announced earlier today that Hangeng donated 100,000 RMB to support search and rescue teams in Gansu. He also personally asked his fans to donate money they had planned on using to buy him gifts for those who are really in need instead. Hangeng’s fans weretouched and inspired by his request, say reports.

The Gansu mudslide, which was located in a small area of the province known as Chuanqu, killed more than 1000, hospitalized 66, and displaced more than 500 people – they are now known as missing citizens – in one week. Although more than 1000 people have been recovered thus far, the county still has no water nor electricity supply, and has no means of communication to any outer areas.
