On January 16th, Korean rock band CNBLUE performed end their tour of “CNBLUE Zepp Tour 2011 RE-MAINTENANCE ~” at Zepp Tokyo.
In 2010, they attracted a lot of attention from Korea showbiz and has claimed many rookie awards in this year. Every time they hold their live tours in Japan, their tickets would be sold out immediately. Their popularity is increasing steadily and they have also showed us their intense performances in their live show.
Once they started performing in Zepp Tokyo, they enjoyed great support from their fans. After Yonghwa shouted, ‘Are you ready?’ Then they started playing ‘Let’s Go Crazy’. From the very beginning, the concert has already been filled with strong rhythm.
When they were performing ‘Sweet Holiday’, the sweet voices of Yong Hwa and Jong Hyun weaved with the sweet melody played. And when they were performing ‘Voice’, the soothing voice of Jong Hyun filled the arena with his voice together with his marvelous guitar skills. The song refreshed the area with a feeling of freedom.
In the Zepp Tour, Jung Shin said, ‘In the old days, we watched live of artists performing there and we sometimes thought it would be good to hold live shows in Zepp Tokyo too.’ Now, I can meet of you here so I am really glad’.
Yong Hwa, the leader of the band said, ‘ Please enjoy our show! Let’s rock!’ He said it in fluent Japanese.
After performing ‘Now or Never’ and ‘Never Too Late’, there was a jam session in which the powerful drum rolls of Min Hyuk, comfortable base sounds of Jung Shin, the melodies played by Yong Hwa and Jong Hyun are weaved harmoniously with each other.
The four distinctive instruments worked well with each other and then they had their individual solo sessions. The sounds of guitar surrounded the arena continuously even after it stopped playing. Then, many green laser flashes shone on them and another unusual scene appeared. Moreover, when they sang ‘Teardrops In The Rain’, which is a sad ballad music, everyone could feel the sweet atmosphere and all the audiences were captured by their singing and melody.
Later, Yong Hwa said, ’We debuted on 14th January and 1 year has passed. We have experienced a variety of things both in Korea and Japan and we think every single experience is important. Although we are still green, we will try more hard to live up to your expectation’.
After Yong Hwa telling us his ambition of the new year, they played their debut song,’ [ひとりぼっち / Hitoribocchi / I'm A Loner] and also [LOVE], we could hear the great chorus and all of the audience seemed to be captivated by them which marked the climax of the show.
Jung Shin then said “The single [RE-MAINTENANCE] had been released on January 9 and it had already captured the 14th place in the weekly ranking of the Oricon chart (they got 12th place next week) and he also said ,’ Thank you for all of you who have bought the single.’ .
During the live show, they played the three new songs of the single too which were refreshing and nostalgic at the same time. Moreover, at the encore part, Yong Hwa appears became the club DJ. They played ‘I Don’t Know Why’ and after that ‘High Fly’ which is from the movie, Acoustic. Jong Hyun and Min Hyuk starred in the film.
After 5 more songs, they ended the show. After the show, Yong Hwa said, ‘In conclusion, we have to work hard every time because if we have to perform 100 shows, the 100 shows will all be different, Although it is good to listen to CD but when you listen to us at the shows, a different feeling will be given… I think it is the attraction of watching a live show.
Min Hyuk said, ‘I still remember when we first came to Japan, we only did live shows on the streets and in small live houses. Doing a live show in Zepp was a dream. When I stood in front of you and did live shows like these, I feel that I step 1 step forwards towards my dream. My dream is not performing in a big place but to let more people know our music. We will show you good shows from now on and please look forward to it’.
It is how their dreams and music has been developing.

Episode of 「RE-MAINTENANCE」production
Yong Hwa:The title RE-MAINTENANCE means we have to live without forgetting the original intention. Please pay attention to the lyrics, too. Jong Hyun and I composed and recorded the song. We asked the Japanese staff to help us for the arrangement of the song. The song involves a melody played by various musical instruments. The song is well done and I am very glad about it.
Jong Hyun: When I watched the movie “今会いにいきます / Ima Aini Ikimasu” (※Japanese title), I was influenced by it so I wrote [KIMIO].

How did your fellow members changed in this year?
Jung Shin to Jong Hyun) His guitar skilled has been matured a lot. He leads the band and has created a lot of wonderful music.
Jong Hyun to Yong Hwa): He keeps composing amidst of the very busy schedule. His efforts are incalculatable.
Yong Hwa to Min Hyuk): He has great improvement in his drum skills. I think drum is the instrument that leads the band which can make our stage more gorgeous. I think he has grown up a lot.
Min Hyuk to Jung Shin): Since he is a base player who play the rhythm with me, I really think we have been growing up together.
■ The aim of this year
