DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“DiGi”) is ramping up its music proposition by offering customers a chance of a lifetime to see top Korean acts perform live in Malaysia. In collaboration with Universal Music to bring unique music experiences, DiGi Live K-pop Party 2011 will showcase three award-winning acts from South Korea at Stadium Negara on 13 January 2011.

The three South Korean acts – Beast, 4minute and G.Na -- have taken their home country by storm through their cutting-edge pop music and energetic performances to make it in the music industry. They have each steadily built a growing fan base across Asia, including Malaysia.

On supporting Korean pop culture, the Head of Segment Marketing, Moharmustaqeem Mohammed, explained: “We are always on the lookout on how best to connect with our customers to deliver what is relevant and needed for both work and play. Just like our current popular DiGi Easy Prepaid product that now comes with a music feature, DiGiMusic Pluz, we have tailored our music offering by making it easily accessible and packed with unique music experiences, including access to live performances by their favourite artistes.

“It is only a matter of time that we venture into Korean pop music since many of our customers are huge K-pop fans. To kick-start our venture, we will be unveiling exclusive opportunities for our customers to meet the three performing acts in person in conjunction with the media launch of DiGi Live K-pop Party 2011 this Sunday,” he added.

Loan Cheong, General Manager of Universal Music Malaysia, said, "DiGi has once again pushed the envelope by putting together not one, but three top K-pop artistes, making this event the first of its kind in Malaysia. DiGi was the first to launch the iPhone app for legal music downloads called DiGiMusic Play a month ago. The media launch of DiGi Live K-pop Party 2011 is on Sunday, 5 December 2010, at One Utama New Wing, Ground Floor (outside of Armani Exchange store) from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Fans who reload RM30 during the event will have an opportunity to win special passes to meet the artistes in person.

As a run-up to the January K-pop party, the winner of the recent DiGi flyaway contest to catch Beast live in Seoul will be announced during the media launch. The winner will enjoy an all-expense paid trip for two to catch the “Welcome to Beast Airline” concert in Seoul on 12 December.

DiGi Live K-pop Party 2011 will be launched on 6 December 2010. Valued at RM350, RM200 and RM120 respectively, the bundled packages consist of the party passes, 30-day free trial of *DiGiMusic Pluz, mobile content of Beast, 4minute and G.Na, special discounts on the artistes’ albums and discounts on official merchandise. DiGi customers need to activate DiGiMusic Pluz via SMS ON PLUZ to 2000 before they can secure the packages.

*DiGiMusic Pluz is available at a usual monthly fee of RM5 with the first ten MP3 songs downloaded at RM0.50 per song and RM1 for each subsequent song.
