Unexpectedly showing up on Time.com, Taeyang’s face is seen among today’s popular kpop idols. Taking notice of the strong presence of the Hallyu wave, their attention was immediately drawn to Taeyang, 2NE1, Big Bang, and apple girl Kim YeoHee.
Shortly after iTunes released Solar on August 25th, the R&B album went to No.3 in Japan, No.5 in Canada, No,11 in the U.S., and No.15 in Australia. According to Time.com Solar International is set to be in actual music stores in the U.S. and Canada later this year. Taeyang’s concert crew is reportedly getting ready to live stream the whole event through YouTube in order to allow fans who are overseas to get front row seats for the highly-anticipated event.
Taeyang’s views on promoting in the U.S.? While he’s known for his warm and smiling personality in South Korea, he feels he would need a different approach to promote in the U.S. After seeing that his goatee had been photoshopped out from his album cover he said, “Call the printer and tell them to change the picture. I want to look a bit tough. In the U.S., like this, they’ll think I’m too nice.”
