Lee Seunggi, Girls' Generation's Yoona, and Song Jihyo to MC the 2011 SBS Korean Music Festival

The end of the year is quickly approaching and that means that end of the year festivals are this week. SBS is the first to go, as they will be airing their 2011 Korean Music Festival on December 29th at 8:50 PM KST. KBS will hold their music festival on December 30th, while the 2011 MBC Korean Music Festival will air on December 31st an KINTEX in Ilsan.

The line-up for this year's SBS Music Festival, also known as the Gayo Daejun, includes TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, 2NE1, BEAST, Wonder Girls, KARA, CNBLUE, T-ara, IU, Lee Seunggi, Kim Hyunjoong, 4minute, f(x), Brown Eyed Girls, Davichi, Teen Top, G.NA, U-Kiss, Infinite, Dal Shabet, and A Pink.

In addition to the normal performances from the artists, SBS has revealed that there will be a special Hallyu Wave concept stage as well as many joint stages.

On December 27th, a representative from SBS revealed that the MCs for this year's show would be Song Jihyo, Lee Seunggi, and Girls' Generation's Yoona. This will not be Yoona's first awards show to host this year, as she was also a host for the 2011 KBS Entertainment Awards last week.

Additionally, Lee Seunggi has revealed on numerous broadcasts of SBS's "Strong Heart" that Yoona is his ideal type. Because of this, fans are anticipating a fun night.

Hyun Bin chosen as the #1 actor who helped 2011 shine

Hyun Bin was picked as the #1 actor who helped 2011 shine.

On December 21st, according to Korean Gallup, a poll was taken from November 18th to December 7th, in which 1,728 people, over the age of 13, participated .

Hyun Bin took 1st place with 9.2% of the votes due to his role as Kim Joo Won in SBS‘s ‘Secret Garden‘.

The actor had placed 5th in 2010′s poll, but after the airing of ‘Secret Garden’ he climbed up to 1st place in 2011 – evidencing that ‘Secret Garden syndrome’ is still at large.

Han Suk Kyu from SBS’s ‘Tree with Deep Roots‘ placed 2nd with 7.1% of the votes, while Kim Tae Hee grabbed 3rd with 7% of the votes for her drama, MBC‘s ‘My Princess‘.

Su Ae followed next for SBS’s ‘Thousand Day Promise‘, in which she played an emotional character undergoing Alzheimer’s, while Jang Hyuk came in 5th for SBS’s ‘Tree with Deep Roots’.

After those names came Go Doo Shim, Song Joong Ki, Lee Soon Jae, Lee Seung Gi, and Kang Boo Ja.

Lee Seung Gi volunteers to package food for starving children

Talented actor, MC, and singer Lee Seung Gi recently cleared some time on his schedule to take part in a very special volunteering event held on November 30th, sponsored by the Chun Jung Woncorporation.

Titled ‘The more you share, the more delicious the happiness is!‘, the idol directly participated in the process of packaging a total of 2011 gift boxes, with 150 other volunteers. These gift boxes are to be delivered to the starving children in the nearby cities and villages.

Photos of the idol can be seen, revealing himself hard at work, and staying until the end of the event. The CEO of Chun Jung Won co., Park Sung Chil, also made an appearance alongside Lee Seung Gi.

Wonder Girls’ Sohee apologizes to Lee Seung Gi

Wonder Girls member Sohee who guest-featured on the November 29th episode of SBS ‘Strong Heart‘ shared a story about how she ran into MC Lee Seung Gi at the gym.

“When I go to the gym, I like to dress comfortably without wearing any makeup. Plus, my face tends to swells up a lot in the morning,” she began.

“I rushed to the gym one morning with absolutely no makeup on and I just happened to run into top Hallyu star Lee Seung Gi“, she continued.

“I couldn’t even look him straight in the face and I was so embarassed that I was a bit hostile when he tried to talk to me“, she said, trying to clear up any misunderstandings.

On the same episode, Wonder Girls leader Sunye confessed that she tried to commit suicide during her days as a JYP Entertainment trainee.

Singer Lee Seung Gi prepared a special performance for Mnet‘s 5-minute music program ‘Tonight‘.

On November 1st, Lee Seung Gi performed the new single, “But We’re Friends“ from his 5th full-length album live on the show.

‘Tonight’ will be a special 4 episode series (5 minutes each) that will run once a week for the month of November. All the footage is taken from his 5th album release event. It takes over the spot of the popular reality show ‘2NE1tv‘.

Fans are familiar with the importance of CF deals, as they bring in larger profits than most other sources of income for celebrities.

To see who the top CF stars in Korea are, Daily Sports compiled a list of the top seven, as rated by the number of products they’ve endorsed from June 2010 to May 2011. Check out the list below!

1. Lee Seung Gi: First place goes to none other than Lee Seung Gi, who’s endorsed a total of 12 products this year. From cosmetics, fridges, and even banking, he’s got all of the best products under his belt.
