Super Junior’s ‘Super Show 4’ 3D to hit Seoul theaters

Super Junior’s exclusive world tour ‘Super Show 4’ will be screened in Korean theaters in 3D-format in August.

On July 15, SM Entertainment announced that it will be premiering Super Junior’s ‘Super Show 4’ 3D in 30 theaters across South Korea. The film will cover the group’s first world tour as well as the encore concert in Seoul held in May of 2012 at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium.

The concert will hit the theaters in Korea beginning August 8.

Kang Sora mentions Super Junior’s Leeteuk on CulTwo’s radio program

 

Kang Sora referred to her former ‘We Got Married‘ husband Super Junior‘s Leeteuk.

The actress appeared on the March 26th airing of SBS Radio‘s ‘Two o’clock Escape Cultwo Show‘ and spoke about Leeteuk, who is currently serving in the army.

She shared, “A few days ago I went to see the musical ‘Promise‘, and I got to see Leeteuk. He looked really good.”

Kang Sora added, “His body looked good. He got some muscles and became more manly. Maybe he was made for the army,” causing listeners to laugh.

Leeteuk sends a message of encouragement to Yesung on enlisting

Super Junior‘s Leeteuk sent Yesung a message of encouragement on his plan of enlistment.
On March 27, Leeteuk was appointed a PR ambassador along with Sangchu at the Seoul Military Manpower Administration’s 10th annual military ambassador ceremony. At the ceremony, Leeteuk said, “When I was out in society, I was able to eat and do anything I wanted. After I enlisted, I realized I was happy and appreciated for all the small things. I also realized how precious people were. Yesung is going to enlist soon, and I want to tell him to have strength. I know Yesung must be nervous, wondering if he’s going to do well. But I was the same, and anyone can do it. I want to tell Yesung, ‘Yesung, have strength, and do your best as a member of Super Junior in the time you have left.”
Meanwhile, Leeteuk is scheduled to be discharged from the army on July 29, 2014.

Super Junior’s Heechul Spotted at Izakaya Bar

Super Junior’s Heechul has shared several photos of him with friends and family since his enlistment last September. He was seen at dinner with TRAX’s Jung Mo and actress Shim Eun Kyung late last month, before joining fellow SM artists, BoA, Siwon, and Chairman Lee Soo Man for a glass of wine earlier this month. He was also spotted at a fancy restaurant with an unknown friend last week, keeping his fans in the loop about his whereabouts.

On January 15, Heechul’s latest photo at an Izakaya bar owned by comedian Jung Jun Ha was posted online. Jung Jun Ha tweeted the photo with the caption, “Last night, the Universe Big Star arrived at Ppuri Ppuri!” He continued, “He kindly signed autographs, took photos with fans, he’s truly the Universe Big Star~! China has the UFO, Korea has the Universe Big Star~Please come often!”

“Ppuri Ppuri” is the Japanese Izakaya bar run by Jung Jun Ha in the upscale Chungdam area in Seoul. Heechul is reported to have visited the bar without prior notice, surprising the owner and all the customers.

Netizens, however, seemed confused over Heechul’s frequent appearance in online photos as he’s supposed to be serving in the army right now. Well, Heechul technically is serving the 23-month mandatory military service. It’s just that he’s assigned to a local district office to work as public service personnel. The position is usually reserved for people with serious health issues or prior medical records. Heechul was forced to receive an ankle surgery following his 2006 car accident, and that’s why he’s not serving at the regular army camps. After completion of the four week bootleg camp, public service personnels are assigned to their jobs, working regular hours. They are not restricted to any type of military obligations after their regular working hours, and that’s why he’s often seen in these photos. Anyways, it’s good to see the “Universe Big Star” at least through these photos!

Super Junior‘s ‘Big Space Star’ Kim Heechul has just shared his New Year’s greetings with fans.

On January 11th, Heechul tweeted, “Happy new year~”

The idol seems to be practicing his selca poses, as he dips into the ‘ulzzang angle’ where he tilts his chin low while holding the camera up high. Fans noticed that he seemed leaner, thanks to his enrolment in the military.

Leeteuk shares group photos of Super Junior’s ramen celebration

On January 8th, Super Junior‘s Leeteuk shared photos of their group dinner together following the end of a successful day.

Leeteuk wrote on his Twitter, “We always celebrate by going out to eat after the end of a concert. Always ramen and cola. Ramen family, Rafam~ Together with Fighting Junior, who’s always full of fighting. Let’s always laugh and be there for one another like now! I love you guys!”

Gathered around at a ramen restaurant in Japan, the boys are seen sharing a simple but sweet dinner while putting up their glasses of coke to say cheers.

Super Junior’s Shindong gets a new toy

On January 7th, Super Junior‘s Shindong played around with a new purchase.

On me2day he posted “I got a new toy.. It’s the Galaxy Note!!^^ I really like electronics!! Ah ha!! I’m in Japan!!”

This photo appeared on his me2day with the description, “I am the eyeliner prince!”

Super Junior’s cumulative album sales for 2011 reaches 350,000 units – crowned “Album King”

Asia’s hottest idol group Super Junior set a new record, becoming the top artist to sell the most albums over the past 3 years.

The ‘2011 Singer Awards‘ reflects the artists that sold the most albums according to sales data from Hanteo, and Super Junior sold 355,900 albums between January 1st, 2011 and December 27th, 2011.

Super Junior’s cumulative album sales (of all 32 singles and albums they’ve released to date) for 2011 amounted to 350,000 units. This was the highest number of sales since the ‘Singer Awards’ were established back in 2009. Seo Taiji boasted 248,800 units in 2009, while Girls’ Generation set a new record last year by moving 309,400 units.

Super Junior’s full length album ‘Mr.Simple‘ was a big factor that contributed to their impressive sales numbers. ‘Mr Simple’ Type A alone sold 199,300 copies while Type B sold 53,500 copies and their repackaged album sold 73,900 copies. All together, their fifth album alone sold 326,800 units. Behind Super Junior was TVXQ who sold 230,000 units and Girls’ Generation who sold 226,700 units.

The two names that stood out on the list, however, were INFINITE and IU. The boys of INFINITE came in at 7th place selling 124,100 units while singer IU was the only soloist to break the top 10, selling 92,900 units at #9.

Hanteo charts calculates the data by collecting 85% of their information from nationwide music sales and 15% from accumulations in their own information database along with national sale estimates.

Leeteuk’s sister is excited that her brother will be enlisting in the military?

Leeteuk‘s sister shared her thoughts on her brother enlisting in the Korean military.

On a recent episode of SBS Plus ‘Choi Yang Lak & Jung Chan Woo’s Cash Taxi‘, Park In Young, the sister of Leeteuk and her colleague Seo Ji Young got on board the cash cab.

Park In Young is currently working as a reporter for SBS ‘Midnight TV Entertainment‘ and both her and Seo Ji Young rode the cash cab in order to gift their ‘Midnight TV’ staff members with snacks.

While having a conversation, Park In Young excitedly remarked, “Leeteuk is going to be enlisting in the military soon. I think I’m going to have to upgrade my position and presence at home while he is gone.”

When the MCs asked why she was so eager to get rid of him, her colleague Seo Ji Young remarked, “There are different levels in the Leeteuk household. The treatment that the ever-popular Leeteuk receives and the treatment Park In Young receives is completely different,” causing the staff members to explode in laughter.

Choi Siwon enjoys a year-end dinner with his trainer

Super Junior member Choi Siwon recently shared the above photo via his Twitter page and wrote, “A rather simple year-end dinner without alcohol. This is my trainer hyung whose face I am unveiling for the first time since ’09. I won’t reveal his name, but let’s just call him Guru Lee.”

Super Junior‘s Shindong gave fans an early Christmas present in the form of a new music video for “Oppa Has Arrived“!

The multi-talented idol created a second MV for Donghae and Eunhyuk‘s project song, which was then released through SM Entertainment‘s YouTube page.

The MV is mostly comprised of performance clips and backstage vignettes, but fans are sure to love Director Shindong’s efforts for his groupmates.

“Skip Beat!” to premiere this weekend

Super Junior members Donghae and Siwon visited Taiwan for 6 hours to promote their first Taiwanese idol drama, “Skip Beat!”, also known as Extravagant Challenge. Since the drama is about show business and they play rivals, they were asked if they also compete with each other off screen. Siwon replied, “To be honest, it’s hard to avoid disagreements, but I always try my best to listen to the other’s opinions.”

Donghae and Siwon spent 4 months in Taiwan in order to film, and the series will finally air this weekend, taking the slot of the drama “In Time With You” .
