Young celebs get early admits to college for 2011

4minute's HyunA, Kara's Gu Hara, actresses Goo Hye-sun, Seo Woo, Ko Ah-seong and Lee Se-yeong have been accepted on early admission to college for the spring semester of 2011.

According to HyunA's agency on Thursday, the girl group member will major in film under the division of art at Konkuk University's College of Art & Design next year.

An official from Seo Woo's agency confirmed yesterday that she will be joining HyunA at Konkuk University's College of Art & Design, adding that the actress has shown great interest in entering college to learn more about acting.

Gu Hara and actress Lee Se-yeong will become colleagues with both girls having been accepted to the department of media communication at Sungshin Women's University.

Korean actresses Goo Hye-sun and Ko Ah-seong will both become freshmen at Sungkyunkwan University, majoring in film at the school of art and studying sociology at the school of social sciences, respectively.

Seo Woo hit with poor acting accusations again

Actress Seo Woo has been hit with poor acting accusations once more due to viewers believing that her image does not fit with the character well enough.

Seo Woo is currently playing the role of aspiring movie starlet, Baek In Gi in MBC’s “Flames of Ambition.” Baek In Gi is a woman that has thrown away her past in order to run towards success, fully believing that she must succeed in order to achieve happiness.

On a recent episode broadcast on October 17th, Seo Woo had to play a scene where she glared at a number of reporters after one of them had asked her an annoying question and she even flipped them the middle finger (which was aired as it is, uncensored) before storming off.

Some viewers believed that she handled the scene well, commenting, “I can see her improving,” “It was nice to see a different side to her,” and “She seems to express evil characters well,” etc.

Others said, “Her speech was too awkward, it was hard to concentrate,” “Her image doesn’t fit her character,” and “Her acting is so poor, I was ringing my wringing my hands in embarrassment.”

Seo Woo was hit with the same accusations for her acting in “Cinderella’s Sister” as the role of Hyosun, with many believing that she overreacted for too many of her scenes.

One representative of the industry commented, “Seo Woo has a tendency to look awkward at times. If it was just a two hour one act play or a movie, her acting is well enough to receive praise, but since it’s a long term drama, it’s difficult for her to showcase herself at a faster speed, which is why such controversies come about.”
