TRANS] 130719 JYJ’s Kim Junsu – Kim Jaejoong To Enlist In The Military This Year… “Currently Deciding On A Date”

It has been found that JYJ’s Kim Junsu and Kim Jaejoong will be enlisting in the military this year.

Multiple sources in the K-pop industry have stated that the two singers are currently deciding on a date ahead of their military enlistment. In Kim Jaejoong’s case, he has already been given multiple draft notices, but has pushed back his enlistment due to reasons such as long periods of time spent overseas. However, it has become difficult for him to push back his enlistment any further.

A representative of the industry stated, “He is currently deciding on an enlistment date with his agency due to issues surrounding frequent overseas concerts and scheduled activities,” and “From what I know, he either plans to go near the end of this year, or next January to February at the latest.”

Kim Junsu, who received a second grade active duty designation, is also in discussions about his enlistment date.

A representative stated, “Taking into consideration the current controversy surrounding celebrity soldiers, he would like to enlist as a regular solider.” He continued to add, “The enlistment of male celebrities has always been a sensitive topic, and both singers are of the opinion to go the regular track and avoid the criticism that follows a shaky celebrity enlistment. They can’t help but be cautious as their status as top stars will make their enlistment a hot topic.”

Born in 1986 and 1987 respectively, Kim Jaejoong and Kim Junsu still have a bit of leeway age-wise in pushing back their enlistment, but both have already pushed it back numerous times. All three members of the group became the center of spotlight when they visited the Office of Military Manpower Administration for their physical checkups on the 14th of February, 2011. Kim Jaejoong’s draft notice set his enlistment for September, 2011 but was reported to have been pushed back to the following year. Now, the singer can’t help but be aware of public sentiment surrounding celebrity enlistments.

A representative of C-JeS stated, “All three members of JYJ plan to enlist in the military, like every other male in Korea.” However, he did not say much on when exactly the members would be enlisting.

Meanwhile, JYJ’s other member Park Yoochun has received a fourth grade reservist duty designation due to his asthma. There is no news yet on when Park Yoochun plans to enlist in the military.

The cast members of the popular drama ‘Protect the Boss‘ have gathered together once again, but this time for a year-end party.

Recently, ‘Protect the Boss‘ Director Song Jung Hyun posted proof shots of the cast members at the year-end party on the website gallery. The pictures contained images of JYJ‘s Jaejoong along with actresses Choi Kang Hee, Ha Jae Sook and actor Ji Sung as they came together to share a drink and celebrate the year’s end in good company.

The public was particularly drawn to the picture where Jaejoong is seen puckering up his lips attempting to kiss Choi Kang Hee, as well as other pictures where he is drawing humorous expressions, causing laughter among those who stumbled across the pictures.

JYJ’s Jaejoong gets voted as the #1 “undeniable celebrity”

Some celebrities develop their star quality, while others are born with it. Knowing this, community portal site DC Inside polled its users from October 25th to November 1st on the question, “If they weren’t celebrities, what would they be doing now? Who is most undeniably a celebrity?

Out of 13,175 votes, 36.5% (or 4,811 votes) named JYJ‘s Jaejoong as the #1 celebrity who was born to become a star. Netizens explained that they believed Jaejoong’s statuesque features and strong musical talents gave him a natural star quality.

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong came in second place with 19.9%. His ‘prince-like’ looks and 4D-personality made many users feel that he possessed a deadly combination of looks and charm.

Finally, Rain placed third with 8.4%. His star quality was defined by hard work, as he dedicated endless hours to perfect his skills and his stage presence, which now receives praise everywhere he goes.

Kim Jaejoong takes a photo with Jisung and Musashi

On October 27th, singer-actor Kim Jaejoong uploaded a photo on his Twitter and captioned it, "I've become very close with Jisung and Musashi."

The photo shows him with his arms around both of their shoulders in a pose that demonstrates their friendship. Kim Jaejoong and Jisung had become good friends after appearing in "Protect the Boss" together.

JYJ's Jaejoong unveils photos from Barcelona, Spain

With C-Jes Entertainment already confirming that JYJ has departed for the the first stop of their European tour in Barcelona, Spain, Kim Jaejoong updated fans of his whereabouts through social networking site Twitter.

Just a while ago, Jaejoong updated his Twitter account with a series of tweets while in Barcelona. He also shared three new photos of his trip, unveiling photos while in the streets of Barcelona with Junsu and their team.

JYJ will be meeting their fans on October 29 at the Poble Espanyol for the first stop of their tour and will attend Spain's Manga Festival right after. JYJ will then head to Berlin, Germany for their second stop on November 6.

[NEWS] Interior of JYJ Kim Jaejong's House Expose " I Want To Live with you"

Photos of JYJ member Kim Jaejoong's house going public have become a hot topic.

Kim Jaejoong has publicly revealed his stylish home through the November issue of the interior design magazine [maison]. These pictures were revealed through [maison]'s Facebook page and became a big topic.

Jaejoong has also caught attention previously as he has shown his house through his Twitter account before. Jaejoong, who enjoys personally purchasing each and every one of the items used to decorate his house, showed off his neat and tidy home through these pictures.

[maison] said "Kim Jaejoong's house is a representation of an ideal home for single men in their 20s living alone, creating a 'mannish' atmosphere overall" and that "even during the filming period of the SBS TV drama [Protect the Boss], he checked the design meticulously. It gave off the feeling of a design collector and one could feel that he had good (design) sense. Through this assignment, we were able to work with him personally and it broke many preconceived notions about idols".

JYJ Speaks Out #2 – Talking About Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun And Kim Junsu

Heodang (Lacking): Though Cha Mu Won of ‘Protect the Boss’ is a chaebol, there is definitely something he can’t do. His weakness is that he’s not good at fighting because all he does is lock himself up in his office and study. I expressed that in a very ‘heodang (lacking)’ way. I’m like that too. Because I’m not that active, I’m not that good at ball games. In the drama, I was made to look like I was even really good at sports, but in real life, I have a very ‘heodang’ nature. (Yoochun) I think it would be best.. if Jaejoong didn’t play ball games like soccer or basketball in front of others. (laughter)

Ji Sung: Even I could see myself getting better with every new episode. It would have been impossible if it weren’t for Ji Sung. He must have been busy enough studying his own character, but he took care of me and helped me run my lines. I think the scenes in which we were acting together came alive because I normally feel comfortable around Ji Sung.

Individual Activities: As you all know, we started pursuing individual activities to promote JYJ as we were unable to appear on music programs. Our individual activities became a great opportunity for us to promote JYJ. It started like that but we feel the charm of being an actor or a musical actor more and more as time goes on. (Yoochun) But personally, I don’t feel confident about pursuing a career in musicals. I think I’d be compared too much to Junsu. (laughter)

Park Yoochun

Cha Mu Won (Kim Jaejoong) of ‘Protect the Boss’: He took on his character very well. I found myself naturally falling into the drama as I watched it. I also feel envious of Jaejoong because he took on a character that could present something different from his original image and did so very well. It’s so much that if I ever get the chance, I’d like to play a character similar to the one that Jaejoong portrayed. I’m not joking when I saw that I could see this unknown aura around Jaejoong. So I thought, ‘So this is the power of Jaejoong. (Jaejoong) Thank you. My senior~

Song Yoo Hyun: While playing Song Yoo Hyun in MBC’s ‘Miss Ripley’, there were many moments when I thought, ‘If this were me, I would have exploded.’ But I acted with the understanding that, ‘It could happen because it’s Song Yoo Hyun.’ Though I can’t say that there weren’t moments when I felt frustrated, I laid down the judgment that it was because I was too unskilled in my portrayal of Song Yoo Hyun. If I felt frustrated, wouldn’t Song Yoo Hyun feel a little frustrated too? It was only after I was done filming the drama that I began to think ‘Couldn’t I have been able to express this in another way?’ instead of thinking that the script wasn’t helping with the frustration I had.

The villain’s part: I want to try playing the villain. I think the biggest reason is because I don’t look like a bad guy. Though I want to try taking on a role that pulls me away from the image I have now, I think it would only be right for me to take on such a role after I’ve become more experienced. For now, I want to try everything, regardless of the character.

Kim Junsu

Drama: It’s not that I’m not interested, it’s just that I had already taken part in two musicals this year and wanted to take a break instead of pursuing solo activities. And because each of the other members had his own schedules drawn for his respective drama, I believed it was only right for me to take that time to support them. I’d like to try acting in a drama someday. But it looked so tiring for Jaejoong and Yoochun to stay up all night filming, so I’m in a dilemma.

Together: We try to make every stage one that everyone can enjoy together. We don’t just show what we want to show and end the concert when we’re done, we try to work together with the crowd. We casually ask how they’re doing, and we immediately answer any questions they give us. Because there are a lot of restrictions on our activities that include broadcasted ones, we try to create a more free atmosphere when we meet with our fans and we work hard to satisfy them with our concerts. Though we like dramas and musicals, we started out as singers and we want to be singers forever.

JYJ discusses “In Heaven”, the meaning of ‘PSM’ & dreaming of Yunho & Changmin

On September 30th, the members of JYJ met up with reporters for their “In Heaven” press conference at a cafe in Jungdong, Seoul.  In a heartfelt interview, the men answered questions regarding TVXQ, their recent controversy with ‘PSM‘, and their hopes for the future.

Jaejoong began,

“First of all, this album is one that contains all of our memories and feelings over the course of the past two years.  It’s an album that has a lot of scents in it.  There are tracks that convey our honest feelings, as well as tracks that beat around the bush in expressing ourselves.  No matter how much we beat around the bush, though, those that have been with us through it all will know what to imagine while listening to these songs while the regular public will just listen to the song for what it is.  It’s an album with a passcode.  Like I stated, it’s an album that contains everything we’ve felt and done over the past two years.”

Junsu continued, “I worked on the album by conversing a lot with the other members.  It’s an album that shows the true colors of JYJ.  I believe that we were able to create such a great result because we regarded as the production of it as a positive opportunity and experience.”
Jaejoong added, “The reason we started our individual activities was to get the name of JYJ out there.  Since the three of us cannot go out on music programs, we had no option but to get JYJ’s name known individually.”


Junsu stated,

“We began our careers as singers and I hope that we’ll continue to eternally walk down the path of a singer.  Because we’re restricted in so many areas as singers, we decided to take the performance route.  Even if it’s hard to see us on TV, we’re trying to work with our fans by performing at events and fan meetings, as well as other small events.  Our focus is on creating an environment where we can communicate with our fans and enjoy the performance aspect of it together.  A concert is not just a place where we show what we want to show, but a place where we can converse with them.”

When asked what ‘PSM’ meant in their song “Pierrot“, Jaejoong stated,

“It’s weird that a song that’s not even our title track is worthy of being in the media headlines for not passing regulations, but it’s actually quite heartbreaking.  SBS actually asked us what ‘PSM’ meant, meaning that they’ll give us a chance even if it wasn’t okay to pass.  KBS, however, didn’t even give us that chance and just interpreted it however they wanted to, completely ignoring the creator’s intent.  That is so frustrating.”

He continued,

“PSM stands for ‘Performer’, ‘Success’, and ‘Museum’.  Everyone has a future and everyone hopes that their life can shine.  In order to accomplish that, however, they must borrow the strength of others since it’s not possible on your own.  They’re then physically taken advantage of by a museum that creates that success for you and at times you’ll find yourself acting something that you don’t want to do.  It’s a song about people that use innocent people that are only innocently searching for hope.”

Jaejoong stated, “A lot of time has passed.  The time we’ve spent apart might have created 
misunderstandings, but as for us, a lot of that has passed.  I just hope for us to all meet again.  Yunho and Changmin appear in my dreams often.  Once, all three of us dreamt of them at once.”

He continued, “I still don’t keep in contact with Yunho and Changmin.  Please let us contact them.”
Jaejoong also revealed that he might have the opportunity to see Yunho.  “The lighting director for Yunho’s drama, ‘Poseidon‘, is also the lighting director for ‘Protect the Boss‘.  He once told me to come and visit during an after party.  I might be able to see him then.”

KBS says, “JYJ’s song “Pierrot” is inappropriate”

JYJ’s song was recently judged inappropriate for KBS.

On the 28th, KBS  posted the result from deliberation on the K-Pop songs. They judged JYJ’s song “Pierrot” and “Mission” to be inappropriate for the air on KBS.

According to KBS, the reason was “Pierrot” makes a personal attack against Lee Soo Man, president of SM Entertainment. The lyrics of “Pierrot” are aimed at SM, the company that has a conflict with JYJ.

“Pierrot” contains unconventional lyrics, saying, “I’m your Pierrot, so funny. I give you everything. My mind is worn out. You are perfect pro who cares about nothing but money, P.S.M. What are you gonna do to me again. Take your dirty hand off. Don’t even look at me. We are changed. Don’t try to lock us in that kind of  pictorial. Look at the world, it’s wonderful. I’m not a Pierrot.”

JYJ’s other song “Mission” was judged inappropriate, because the lyrics contain swear words.

JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong tweeted, “Since we are human, we can imagine whatever we want to. I wonder what kind of picture will come out. Boss Fighting! Album Fighting!”

Kim Jaejoong Says, “I Would Like To End Up In A Love Line With Someone In The Drama”

Kim Jaejoong expressed his disappointment of his character’s love lines in his new drama.

Currently appearing in SBS’ Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect the Boss’, Kim Jaejoong received cheers and complaints from his fans when he shared a kiss scene with Wang Ji Hae’s character Seo Na Yoon in his car.

To this, Kim Jaejoong honestly confessed, “I kissed Wang Ji Hae even before I got to the ‘hand holding’ stage with her. I was so surprised at the heated reaction that fans had for the kiss scene,” and “I would like for Mu Won to end up in a love line with Eun Seol or Na Yoon in the end.“

On August 30th, JYJ’s Jaejoong sat down for an interview and expressed his desire of having a love line for his character in the drama, SBS’s ‘Protect the Boss‘.

Back on the 17th, his character ‘Cha Moo Won’ was involved in a kiss scene with fellow friend and advertisement partner, ‘Seo Na Yoon’ (played by Wang Jihye).  Because the kiss scene was an unexpected one, fans were taken by surprise and began expressing interest in how their relationship will develop.

Jaejoong commented, “In the drama, I’ve never even held hands with Jihye-ssi before we had our kiss. Even during the time of the recording, I was chatting with her comfortably while acting.  I was actually really surprised to see the passionate reactions from so many fans after that particular scene was aired.”

He continued, “Because of the kiss scene, I began to think that in Moo Won’s heart, he still had feelings for Na Yoon even though he liked Noh Eun Seol.  I want for Moo Won to have a love line with either one of the two.  I’ll continue to work hard to turn Moo Won into a character that both I and the viewers want.”

Junsu is always the first among the members to wake up. Among the tired members, the first to do his hair, make up and the first to do his shoot. He has been like this for 8 years. Junsu's sincerity is what brought us here and I've come to emulate Junsu as a colleague and friend. There are a lot of lifelong lessons to be learned from Junsu.



Yoochun who is always impartial. He is always in the middle watching over everyone. That's why the members do not have such thoughts that we're alone. During difficult times, he shares his free spirit with everyone and makes us feel secure.

JYJ’s Jaejoong praised by ‘Protect the Boss’ co-stars for his acting talent

JYJ’s Jaejoong is being highly praised by his senior co-stars for his acting skills on SBS’s ‘Protect the Boss‘.

According to SBS, the crew kicked off the drama’s official filming by recording a reception scene at the 63 Building in Yeouido, Seoul on July 15th.  As soon as the cue sign was dropped by PD Son Jung Hyun, Jaejoong was said to have slipped seamlessly into his role as ‘Moon Won’.

Senior co-stars like Park Young Kyu, Cha Hwa Yeon, Kim Ha Gyun, and many others all praised, “Jaejoong is an actor who will attain greatness.  Let’s all support him so that he can do even better.”

Staff members who had been watching Jaejoong interact with Ji Sung for their script also complimented, “They’re truly a great senior and junior.”

Producers of the drama added, “Before filming began, Jaejoong made sure to check over not only his script, but his outfit and make-up as thoroughly as possible.  Although it’s his first time acting, he is as passionate as any other actor out there.”

The drama will begin airing on August 3rd.

JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong Says, “I’m Really Proud Of Our Fans Who Take The Initiative To Do Good Deeds”

It’s already been seven years since their debut. JYJ(Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu) and their fans both share warm hearts and a need to help others. Maybe it’s because they have spent much time together and overcome many obstacles to get to where they are now.

JYJ have been repaying their fans’ love by giving back to the global community, donating a portion of their income from every concert to an international non-governmental organization(NGO). Watching JYJ take an initiative to do good deeds is enough for their fans to make an example out of them. Fans have been participating in a variety of activities such as rice wreath donations, blood donor card donations and donation drives for people with heart disease.

When reporters began praising JYJ’s fans for their charity work, Kim Jaejoong said with a proud expression, “I’m really proud of them. JYJ were often seen shedding tears at their Asia showcase, world tour and fan meetings because of the unwavering love that they receive from their fans. And at the center of these stages of tears stood Kim Jaejoong.

In a broadcasted interview, the other members of JYJ stated, “Kim Jaejoong has a lot of tears. Once he starts, his tears just pour out of him endlessly. He sobs as if there are water taps in his eyes that have been turned on.”

To this, Kim Jaejoong said, “In the past, I cried often. There was a period of time when I cried a lot, but I’ve been crying less these days. I think my tear ducts have closed up,” and emphasized that he is no longer a man with many tears.

JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong clarified the misunderstandings that surround his ideal woman.

Currently about to debut in the domestic drama industry with the SBS drama ‘Protect the Boss’, JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong recently held interviews in Nonhyun-dong, Seoul.

In a broadcasted interview that was aired in February, Kim Jaejoong garnered much attention for his unusual ideal type as he said, “My ideal type is a woman who is like my housekeeper.” He continued to make the hearts of his female fans pound as he jokingly confessed, “If you’re somewhere out there, come to me quickly! I’m dying of loneliness.”

Some reporters found his idea of an ideal woman odd and to this, Kim Jaejoong said, “I think I expressed my thoughts wrong. I was talking about someone who isn’t lazy about housework, cleans well and makes great food.”

Kim Jaejoong also added, “Because I like to clean and cook, I want to be able to do these things with my girl.”

Because JYJ are celebrities, it can’t be helped that there are restrictions on their personal lives.
