Uee and Song Joong Ki were picked as this year’s Barbie and Ken!

On December 6, Uee and Song Joong Ki were a part of the 2011 Barbie and Ken Awards and Fashion Show. The event was held by Mattel Korea at Cheongdamdong Beyond Museum. The event was a celebration of Barbie being a Generation, Cultural, and Fashion icon for 52 years.

The event chose one male and female celebrity that had a positive effect on culture, as fashion icons much like Barbie and Ken. The winner receives a special collector edition doll. Last year’s winners were Hwang Jung Eum and Kim Bum.

On this day, Uee and Song Joong Ki received their special edition doll award and a there was also a Barbie and Ken fashion show that showed the fashion of many prominent South Korean fashion stylists.

New cast Jeong Seok-won have a kiss scene with UEE?

Actor Jeong Suk-won will act together with UEE.

Jeong Suk-won has been added in the cast of KBS 2TV drama "Ojak Brothers". He will act as a movie producer in the character of Kim Jae-ha.

Kim Jae-ha will be involve in a love triangle with Baek Ja-eun (UEE) and Hwang Tae-hee (Joo Won) and expected to add more tension to the drama.

Suk-won said, "I feel grateful to be added to the drama, I watched it during my free time. It is so popular and loved by many viewers so I will work hard to reach the expectations."

Meanwhile, Suk-won is scheduled to start his first shooting on October 18 at Kyeonggido Namyangju for "Ojak Brother's.

After School’s UEE to cameo in ‘All My Love’

After School’s UEE seems to be on a roll with her acting career! It’s just been revealed that she’ll be adding a cameo in MBC’s daily sitcom, ‘All My Love’.

UEE will be making a cameo as the maknae sister of Butler Kim, ‘Yujin’. In the plot, she’s described to have studied design in New York and is briefly making a visit to Korea while on her break.

Butler Kim, ashamed of his profession in front of his younger sister, lies by saying that he’s an investment adviser. The lie eventually stretches out to include Director Kim and his family to help the butler save face.

UEE will also play an extensive role in that she falls in love with Doojoon’s character immediately after he saves her from some delinquents. This eventually gets her into a fight with groupmate Lizzy as they bicker for Doojoon’s attention.

After the filming, UEE said, “It was a fun experience working with great actors in a family-like environment. It will definitely be remembered as a fond memory.”

The episode will broadcast on August 4th.

After School UEE Caught Netizen's Attention with her Bright Charms

Behind the scenes photos taken during U-ie’s photo shoot for After School’s picture teasers has recently been released. The photos were uploaded onto online community sites where netizens praised U-ie for her charming natural look and her well proportioned body. They also praised her for having beautifully long and slender legs. Many netizens were drawn to U-ie because of how model like she appeared even though she wasn’t posing. Instead she was in a natural and comfortable state as she calmly waited for the photo shoot to start.

Enthusiastic comments netizens left about photos included, “The coming of a goddess…”,“true honey thighs” and comments were even left in good nature for the staff with things like “staff you saved the country” being said.

Seungri and UEE crowned as King and Queen of Idols

On February 2nd, SBS aired a special Lunar New Year’s broadcast, ‘King of Idols‘, where top idol stars came together to play various games and select the “King and Queen.” As it turns out, the other idols selected Big Bang’s maknae, Seungri, and After School’s UEE as “King and Queen.”

Drama | After School UEE’s Drama Fails To Make The Shot

Unfortunately even with UEE, golf is still not a fun sport.

On December 6th, broadcasting station, MBC, announced that After School member UEE‘s drama “Birdie Buddy” (버디버디) has been canceled.
UEE made her acting debut last year in the drama “Queen Seon Duk” and “You’re Beautiful” and earlier this year made a cameo on the drama “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho“.
‘Birdie Buddy” would have been the 1st lead role in a drama for UEE but now it seems that might never happen.
An MBC representative stated, “ The drama would follow the Monday-Tuesday miniseries, “Queen of Reversals.” However, during the programming negotiations, they felt it was unsuitable and was rejected as a result.”
In other words with drama, “Queen of Reversals” killing it in the ratings and the subject of UEE‘s drama being golf, MBC didn’t think anyone would care enough to watch.
Instead though another drama “Friends of Switched Fates” will take over the time slot.
There may still be  a chance for “Birdie Buddy” to air on the small screen since “Friends of Switched Fates” is behind production schedule.
Guess its bye birdie for UEE‘s drama. So the question is, would anyone bother to watch a drama about golf?

"Birdie Buddy" in talks to air on MBC in late-December

Upcoming TV series "Birdie Buddy" is in talks to go on air starting late-December on major Korean broadcasting company MBC.

"We are currently in talks for 'Birdie Buddy' to air on MBC after current drama 'Queen of Reversals' ends its run," a PR official from production company Group 8 told 10Asia over the phone on Thursday.

She added that there is also a chance "Buddy" would premiere in early January should "Queen" extend its run. The finale episode of "Queen" is currently set for December 21.

"Birdie," based on a comic series by Lee Hyun-sae, is about the world of female golfers. Lee has also received a presidential award for his golf series of the same name.

The drama will star Korean girl group After School member U-ie who plays the role of Sung Mi-soo, a poor girl from the country side who dreams of becoming a famous golfer and dancer-turned-actor Lee Yong-woo who will take on the role of John Lee, a pro golfer and love interest to Mi-soo.
